I had a terrible experience at onehunga Mitre10 due to the unprofessional and disrespectful attitude of a staff member named Waldron. From the moment I walked in, his tone was rude and dismissive. When I questioned why he was speaking to us that way, his response was simply, “That’s how I am.”
I originally purchased a product for $530 in 2022. After minimal use, it became faulty in 2023 and took over six weeks to repair. This morning, the same issue happened again, which makes me question whether the product was ever properly fixed. When my husband politely asked if the repair request could be processed quickly, Waldron sarcastically replied, “I am a slow typer.” His behavior was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
What’s even more disappointing is that his manager, Paul, was present and didn’t seem to have an issue with the way we were treated. Instead of addressing the poor customer service, he simply excused it by saying Waldron was “just trying to help.”
I can’t help but feel that the way I was treated was influenced by the fact that I wear a scarf on my head. Regardless of the reason, no customer should have to deal with this level of disrespect. For example, today I went in to get a product, it was stated on the website that it was in stock here, I asked someone where it would be and they looked up on the computer, they couldn't give me an exact location so just told me to look in the garden section rather than going and checking themselves. After looking there, I couldn't find it, so I asked someone else. It turns out it was still out back. There was no desire on their end to go and find it out back, so we went to mitre10 in Mt. Wellington, here the same issue occurred with the product still in a pallet out back, but this time the people were much more friendly and went got it for me. I've also had problems asking technical questions at Onehunga and poor quality of goods sold. So basically, don't expect good service here and be careful of the products before your purchase. Read moreVisited here last night and cannot tell you how happy I was with the customer service we experienced. Greeted as soon as we walked in with happy smiling faces. We walked around for about a minute before an employee stopped what they were doing approached and helped us. We needed to go out their back door and it was raining, a few employees offered us a umbrella which I thought was very very thoughtful. They didn't have what we were looking for but another employee didn't waste no time checking her computer to see if other stores had stock. While leaving we got sent on our way with again smiling faces and farewells. Will never forget it!! Customer service was beyond amazing.
