Nicely priced lunch time meals, and great decor. Unfortunately, that's about it. The place was extremely quiet when I came around 12.40p. There was only 1 person to man the dining area; though when we came, he was busy working on his paperwork to even notice that we are inside waiting to be seated. When the food came, I was impressed that it looked awesome. Unfortunately, the teriyaki sauce have the consistency & texture of sweet and sour sauce - the difference is that this one is brown in colour and not sour. The tofu on the teriyaki tofu meal is cut into small pieces which made it very dry and have very hard edges; definitely doesn't look authentically Japanese - more like Chinese, actually. The okonomiyaki was too brown in colour and doesn't look that appetising. Definitely not authentic Japanese meals, in my opinion; as it wasn't prepared nor made with care, love, and respects.

The food was delicious - we all loved our meals - so good. On the skewers make sure you read carefully if you are getting 1 or 3 because they are mixed up. My friend got one not the three she expected and was annoyed (cuz they are good and you would want more ;) The staff was fine - polite. I had basic teriyaki chicken and rice and miso soup. We brought our own wine - no problem, just small corking fee. It's not cozy but it does have ok ambiance. If the music was chilled and traditional it would have been better. There is I think one table or two with seating on the floor as well.

This restaurant isn't fantastic, but I keep.coming back and have been doing so for nearly 10 years. Why? The food isn't anything special. At best, it's at the good end of average. The restaurant itself is often very noisy (especially if there are groups - it's popular with groups because they allow BYO), and the staff are busy. On the other hand, service is quick, and the prices are very reasonable. I think that's why I keep coming back. This place is reliable - not great food, but ok, inexpensive and fast.

The most upsetting Japanese dinner in life :( Poor service & disrespectful - we didn’t feel welcome at all thought out the whole night. Two of us sat nearby the entrance with another table of 6, waitress only asked the big group if they are okay for them to open the door for airflow but not us. As if we were not exist. Upon payment, we asked where the surcharge from, the attitude of the cashier was irritating. The way she expressed that there is surcharge for paywave is like, ‘are you stupid?!’ There was no signs in front of the pin pad. That was not fair for customer. Not the matter of how much extra we have to pay, but gesture of courtesy. Or even honesty. Not authentic - Nigiri rice was too wet to stick together. Broke into pieces when lifting it up. Rice is also tasteless. Katsu curry was so thin but still dry as inside. The crumb basically not sticking to the pork. It is so soggy. The rice for the sets were dry. Not freshly cooked, been left in the rice cooker for too long. Not fresh - Had both nigiri set and sashimi. Not...

I give 3 stars because we did go in quite late and I feel this probably effected the quality but it was our first time so I have nothing to compare it to. When we first arrived it was about 9:10pm and I asked if they were still open and serving. The lady said yes and seated us. We ordered some sake and asked for a moment to check over the menu. The server did seem to be irritated and came back shortly to say they close at 10pm which at that point I felt whoops! I thought they closed at 11pm and so we quickly just ordered a few skewers. There seemed to only be the one staff member and she was making the food behind the bar... I heard a microwave beep a couple of times and I'm not sure if this was for the food or the sake but it definitely made me wonder. The food wasn't terrible but it wasn't good either... and the service definitely made me feel uncomfortable. Overall a very average experience for a good amount of money. I might go back at a normal dinner time to...
