Atrium Restaurant — Restaurant in North Island

Ordered a pork belly meal, the meat was over cooked but still nice. Unfortunately the pork belly meal did not come with mash as described. I asked where the mash was, which I was informed under the slaw but no it wasn’t. I didn’t want to ask again so I left it at that.

I requested a take away container for my pork belly meal, only to be told I cannot take the food off the premises, as it is not in their ‘policy’, I thought ah ok. How is that even a health and safety risk? Why would that even need to be in a ‘policy’. We’re paying for our meal aren’t we?? Other than that, great customer service with a positive attitude and a smile. Just annoyed about the invisible mash and unable to take food home. We’ll go somewhere...

When we first stepped into the restaurant, we realized the restaurant was located in a big common area in a hotel with dim night , in contrast to my expectation of a separate section. But my perception changed after we were greater by 2 friendly waitstaff who were quick to respond to our every needs. Food came out better than our expectation! Lamb shoulders were succulent and seasoned nicely. Salmon was grilled perfectly with nice creamy potato smash. it was a great dinner on a Sunday night, very quiet but still perfect night for a family dinner. Some highlight on the menu: Spiced Beef & Crispy Noodle Salad, recommend to try, with this price you are almost having a main coz it's a really big plate with crispy noodles and good size of well-marinated tender beef dices. Salmon's Potato cake was a highlight too.
