Initially 3/5 stars which was really on the generous side - altered to reflect below
Service was incredibly slow, one of our meals was forgotten despite repeated checking of our order. While the food was actually quite nice, one of our meals had tin foil in it. When we went to pay the cashier (manager?) got very defensive when we asked for a discount for the issues and accused us of not being ācivilā, ultimately giving us our meal for free. I guess eat here if you want good food and donāt care about good service?
Edited to add Your response below is absolutely and entirely untrue - we felt that he was defensive from the beginning. I stated to him (politely I thought) that we weren't prepared to pay for the meal that had foil in it, or the meal that arrived well after the rest, or the extra cappuccino we had been charged for which we never ordered. He (snarkily) responded 'is there anything on the receipt you ARE prepared to pay for?'. My mother said she would pay for the rest of the bill, which at this stage was about half of the initial charge and we were quite happy with this. He again asked what she was actually paying for, to which she replied 'the rest of it'. He said 'now now, let's maintain some civility here', which was incredibly patronising given that we were actually TRYING to pay for the remainder of our bill. At this point I did get annoyed which is when he cancelled the bill altogether.
I actually have a lot of respect for those in the service industry. I understand it's not an easy job, having been in the service industry myself. I have never complained before, or left a negative review on Google. Your staff members insinuation that I was rude and disrespectful while implying that he was nothing but polite is a complete lie.
I find your comment regarding your staff being 'incredibly experienced' in dealing with incidents such as this interesting, given that they are apparently so rare. A simple apology for the issues, maybe even a 'we hope you'll come back so we can improve your experience', would go a long way, however judging by your bitter responses to other ratings of anything less than 4 stars this doesn't seem to be within your wheelhouse.
It would appear that 'the customer is always right' is not a motto your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWould not let us try one of their beers as it was 'too expensive'. The atmosphere is nice though, with good lighting and decor. I didn't feel that the staff really cared about us as customers, and were more concerned with chatting to their friends at the bar. Beer here is expensive, around $9 for 350ml, as opposed to $10 for 425ml in comparable bars like Garage Project or Black Dog. I felt the staff here knew less about the beer here than in other bars - when we asked about one beer from Liberty we were told to 'go ask Liberty Brewing', they clearly didn't know about the beer they had on tap, and couldn't be bothered to find out, which was disappointing. Next time I'll be going to Garage Project or Rogue & Vagabond...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad breakfast here with my partner and two friends. Service was fast and our meals were great! Once we had finished our meals, we were having a great chat as we hadnāt caught up since the COVID19 lockdown. Twice servers came and politely asked us if we would like anything more and if we were ready we could pay our bill. It was busy so I could understand they wanted to shift us out, but as a customer, itās never nice, regardless of how you ask, to feel forced to leave. Sadly, I will not be returning to Husk...
