Easily the BEST Indian restaurant I've visited in a longggggg time (and I've been to a lot of them)! The Mushroom Pakora was divine, and so was the Laal Mas (red mutton - which I'd never tried before). It was so tender and delicious and was perfectly complemented by Lachha Paratha. The Chicken Biryani came bursting with flavour and was not dry at all like some biryanis can be. The Lamb Ra Ra was scrummy, just the right amount of spice. We even liked the not-oversweet Mango Lassi!
As for desserts, oh my gosh, you must try the home-made gulab jamun which came hot and sweet with excellent texture. We tried all four of the Kulfi desserts and they were superb. My favourites were the Rose Kulfi and the Betel Kulfi. To Die For!!!
Mira and Madan (the very gracious owners) gave us faultless recommendations for the meal and also kindly offered us four a way to sample all of the desserts we wanted to try. They were very accommodating.

Read moreWe had an unpleasant experience with the restaurant owner. When we clarified that we had ordered plain naan, not butter naan, to avoid additional butter, the owner became visibly frustrated. He explained that in New Zealand, 'plain naan' typically includes butter, which contradicts the menu's distinction between 'plain naan' and 'butter naan.' When we inquired about the difference, he informed us that 'butter naan' contains butter in the dough, while 'plain naan' only has butter brushed on top.
Additionally, we ordered the Bhuna Chicken Curry and Kadai Paneer, but both dishes had identical sauces, making it difficult to differentiate between them in flavor. Unfortunately, this whole experience left us losing our appetite and unable to enjoy the dinner with the excitement we...
Read moreWe had a great experience at the restaurant. Starting of with a friendly "hello how are we" a brief introduction into the kitchen an the staff took time to explain the differences between the dishes.
We had two different dishes of which I can unfortunately not recall the names (one with chicken on with goat meat; although this options were available for almost all dishes 😆)
Nevertheless if all dishes taste as ours did, you can not make a wrong choice. We went for a mild version and it was perfect, although I think I could have gone with medium and would still be alive.
The Nan bread was super fresh and tasty; you definitely want to have one (if you are not too hungry one is sufficient for two)
Thx again for a great dinner...
