Elixir West Cafe & Catering — Restaurant in North Island

Visiting new Plymouth and came across Elixer Cafe. It was the buzz that initially got our attention so we figured the food must be pretty good as well.... Fact is, that is an understatement! The food is fantastic, the mince on toast is amazing ....,go figure...who knew mince on toast could possibly taste like that!? So good infact I had it two days in a row and have taken 2 litre conrainer away with me to have when we get home. Also beautiful cakes. Today a raspberry, white chocolate and coconut muffin. Absolutely mouths watering and yesterday some thing like a lemon merangue but with a macaroon type topping. Wonderful! Finally the staff are absolutely the best crew we have come across , in both of their cafes. They are welcoming super friendly and helpful. They all love their jobs and it shows. I would also like to commend them for nNOT suffocating under masks. It is such a relief to see your big smiles and to hear what you actually say. If this offends you just don't go there. They are so successful the don't need the business of people who would complain! When we return, to New Plymouth and we definitely will, this will be our first port of...

BEST BREAKFAST IN TARANAKI! My husband and I went to Elixer West for a breakfast spoil and they did not disappoint! He had their famous chicken and bacon sandwich with fries, and I had a savoury waffle with fried chicken and a poached egg and sweet mystard dressing. It was to die for! The waffle is almost like a scone flavour, with chives, but super moist. The chicken was flavourful, juicy and crispy on the outside and the sauce perfectly brought everything together. Will definitely be going again for the EXACT same meal many times, so that I can later try some of their other options too! The cafe also had a nice relaxed atmosphere, quiet due to it being small, with quick service and comfortable...

Elixir cafe is always a good chill place to have a cup of coffee or grab some hearty breakfast... I ordered a mocha which was really good (as a barista...the Temperature was good and tasted pretty good too).. I came specifically for the West brekky... It was filling and tasty.... As you can see the plate was full... Every individual item was made with love and it showed... My only note was that I asked for a soft poached egg but got hard poached egg(would have been a 5 star review otherwise)... The staff was helpful and friendly... I'd definitely recommend Elixir cafe to anyone... As a local food reviewer this place is gonna be my go to place for a big brekky ❤️... Well done guys...
