Florence Bistro — Restaurant in North Island

Florence Bistro is a relatively new and inviting place — clean, modern, and with a menu inspired by Italy. Service was impressively fast, even though the bistro was clearly busy during our visit. That efficiency was a real standout.

One of our dishes was simple but nice, and the overall presentation was good. The only letdown was the mussels in the seafood dish, which had a noticeably fishy taste and were unpleasant. We also found the breakfast options a bit on the expensive side.

My wife and I called in to Florence. It is located in the Tauranga City Council building. The food was great, the rosti carried both of our meals. I ordered a strawberry macha, a welcome change to coffee, best enjoyed in the coming hot summer months.
