But First Dessert had some great customer service, with very friendly staff but unfortunately the food wasn't the best. The flat white was extremely strong, but their dessert cocktails was amazing! We had the dessert platter and it was enough for three people and exceeded our expectations. The macarons was delicious, especially the strawberry cheesecake, aswell as their vegan raspberry slice. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed by their crÚme brulé, it tasted a lot like raw egg which was very dissatisfying. The waffel was a bit hard, but the salted caramel sauce, with it, was amazing as well as...

My husband and I started coming here for late night dates because there aren't many places in Tauranga open in the evenings. We really enjoy our evening dessert dates and working our way through the seasonal menus. We also occasionally take our children here for their luxurious hot chocolates.

Recently, we ordered a custom birthday cake, which was stunning, and for Christmas, their gingerbread cheesecake, which went down extremely well with the entire extended family.

But First Dessert has never been anything short of excellent in all aspects of food and service. I hope they're around...

My friend and I met up and walked over to But First, Dessert. It was a nice, quiet place to sit and chat. The kind lady at the counter recommended the Chocolate Lava S’more, so we gave it a try and shared it. The portion was big and it tasted good, we both enjoyed it. My friend got a strawberry shake, and I had a cup of English tea.

The place felt warm and cozy, not too busy, which was nice.

Since it’s in city, near The Strand, parking can be a bit hard depending on the time. We walked there, so it wasn’t a problem for us.

Overall, a good spot to hang out and enjoy...
