Frederics Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in North Island

Frederic's is your classic pub/bar everyone pleaser. We often come here for lunch and drinks with friends or when we're not sure what we feel like around town - you won't be disappointed at Frederics - ever! Their menu is classic pub - burgers, tacos, nachos, fish and chips, hand cut chips and loaded chips. Did I mention they have loaded chips? They have loaded chips. I can never decide what to have (usually reverting to a cheese burger or fresh fish taco) but it's always fresh and delicious. They have a good drinks selection (you can get pretty much anything) and an ever rotating craft beer tap too so you can always be guaranteed to be met with something tasty and cold from around NZ and locally too. The wine selection is well balanced and I know I'll get a good margarita or espresso martini if that's what I'm feeling. I like the atmosphere of Frederics, the bar staff are friendly and its relaxed and casual. They also have a loyalty system points app that you can scan with each purchase and you get drink discounts on drinks and vouchers for a certain spend. We dined at Frederic’s last night and had the most beautiful experience. I have limited mobility and as soon as I entered the venue a waiter immediately aided me to a seated table which was so kind. He then politely asked if we would like the menu with the biggest smile. The drinks waitress Latisha was ever so attentive and had great recommendations for drinks and very diligent in making sure every table was served & tended to. The Ribeye Steak meal was sooo good and cooked perfectly we added white wine Mussels to our order which were amazing. It wasn’t till the end of the night that we realised the very polite, happy go lucky waiter that kept serving our meals & dessert was the Owner UV. Can’t thank this man enough for the service and care that he provided. I wish every restaurant had your initiative and attentiveness. Enjoyed our meal here. Was accommodating with our need to make changes to menu to suit us eating no sugar, grains or dairy. The Aged lamb with a broccoli side was beautiful. House Smoked Salmon salad was delicious. Staff were nice. We were at the back of restaurant upstairs, which was quite dark. Alot of families were in restaurant, they had a kids menu with pretty standard fare.

My only complaint was that the restaurant shared toilets with the bar downstairs. This wouldn't have been so bad, however unfortunately the toilets were unisex and not nice to take our little girls too after the guys drinking downstairs had...
