I quite enjoy frozen treats. Mc Donald's is the closest place from where I work and that have frozen coke no sugar on their menu.
As a young adult, I once worked at Mc Donalds, so I believe that I have some (albeit dated) knowledge on how Mc Donalds operates and how busy a Mc Donalds can get during lunch rush.
I have had multiple negative experiences with their ability to get me those delicious frozen cups of joy (sans sucre).
I once waited over 15 minutes for 1 large frozen coke no sugar. I saw several orders be served before me. It was only until I had to go and ask on of the crew that I would know what was happening. They would go and check my order, returning informing me the frozen coke machine was in its defrost cycle and so fcns (frozen coke no sugar) were not available currently and that I had the options of either: waiting until it was ready, getting a normal frozen coke or a refund. Already having waited over 15 minutes, I didn't want to waste any more time; fed up, I left without empty handed.
Recall previously that I mentioned that I have some Mc Donalds experience, and that in the previous scenario, the frozen coke machine was on its defrost cycle thing. Now when the machine is on defrost, there is a orangeish light illuminated on the machine.
More recently, a colleague and I went to get a fcns. Upon waiting for our orders, I noticed the dreaded defrost light. We saw a crew member attempt to pull on the lever with the no sugar sign on it. To the surprise of no-one (probably including the crew member), the only liquids to come out of the nozzle, were not frozen, nor very appealing - they had to throw that out. Following that, we see the crew member going to the next nozzle, the one which only had the normal frozen coke logo on it.
Our orders are then called. When receiving them, I asked the crew member handing our orders over if these are the no sugar ones, and tell them I saw them pull the one not labelled no sugar because the no sugar one has the defrost light on currently. The manger nearby can hear what is happening, and confirms that our drinks are indeed sugarless, even though everyone of us can see that light is still on. So we walk away, skeptical, taste our drinks and we say to each other, that we don't think this tastes like no sugar. Of course it's possible, our opinions are a bit biased.
Now I could believe that it could be possible that I could have be mistaken on what the machines were doing, and that these frozen cokes had no sugar. Regardless of who was wrong, I don't think that the service from Mc Donald's staff was particularly satisfiable by most people.
To further try confirm my theory, I went back a few hours later as I would be stopping by that way anyway. I went for the classic, large frozen coke no sugar. I watched the person pour a frozen coke no sugar from the nozzle labelled no sugar, different from the nozzle that I received earlier on. I also saw someone else receive a normal frozen coke from the frozen coke nozzle which was the same nozzle as before.
I'm not usually a person to care if the service somewhere is not that great, as long as I get what I wanted, and it's not half bad. Especially at Mc Donald's as I know how tough it is to work there and how poor the working conditions are there. However, to say that I was not disgusted by their service would be untrue.
Unfortunately for me, there are no better alternative Mc Donalds that I can go to get a fcns. Just like that bad relationship that you had/have with that toxic girl, I'll probably be going back for more, despite all my friends and family telling me I shouldn't.
I should probably get help, but not as much as...
Read moreThe first thing that struck me about this McDonald's location was its vibrant atmosphere. Situated in a busy part of the city, it buzzed with activity, creating a lively ambiance. Despite the constant influx of customers, the air-conditioned interior provided a welcome respite from the urban hustle.
Cleanliness, often a concern in high-traffic establishments, pleasantly surprised me here. Tables were promptly cleared, and the overall tidiness of the restaurant made for a comfortable dining environment. It's evident that the staff takes pride in maintaining a clean and inviting space for patrons.
Speaking of the staff, their pleasant demeanor was another highlight of my visit. Despite the fast-paced nature of the fast-food industry, the employees were friendly and efficient, contributing positively to the overall experience.
The menu, featuring McDonald's classic offerings, caters to those seeking familiar and reliable options. This, combined with the central location of the restaurant, makes it a convenient choice for both locals and visitors exploring Wellington.
As someone who doesn't frequent fast-food establishments often, my experience at McDonald's on Manners Street was undeniably positive. The bustling yet air-conditioned setting, surprising cleanliness, friendly staff, classic menu offerings, and central location collectively made for a satisfying visit. In essence, it delivered exactly what one would expect from a McDonald's – nothing more, nothing less.

Read moreUsed to have lunch there when was in a hurry but after my last experience I would prefer any other take away. After picking my order, I noticed that several tables had label warns to not be used. Only 6 tables were to be used but all occupied. I circulated around looking for a table available and, as I didn't find any, I stand close to a column and started to eat the chips waiting for a table. One minute later a member of staff approached saying "I know you heard when I said that you should only eat on the indicated tables", I said sorry but I didn't hear you talking to me, can you please repeat?. She continued saying that the store is for take away only at the moment so I should take my meal and leave. I explained that there are tables in the store and some of them are occupied for people who already finished their meal. She said they are allowed to and again said that I should leave then went back to her post. As was raining I had limited options to go so I put my chips back in the back and kept standing waiting for a table. She them shouted from where she was to me "You should leave, this is the rule and I was clear enough, Sir" I said I was not eating, just standing. She just said "You should leave, I was clear". At this point my indignation was bigger than my hunger so I just throw my lunch in the...
