Wabi Sabi Sushi Bar and Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in North Island

Cute intimately small Japanese restaurant. The fish for the sashimi was very fresh and very different in appearance from the salmon sashimi in America. The slices of salmon were about 3.5 inches long and 1.5-2 inches wide. The opened community wasabi bin was a bit sketchy considering the sheer amount of flies coming and going from the establishment. We also had chicken curry and a chicken ramen stir fry bowl all chosen cusines were amazingly delicious despite seeing the flies inside, outside of the establishment is where we chose to eat enjoying the nice views, beautiful weather, and people watching. Ordered a "ramen prawn + chicken" and asked if I can swap the chicken out for pork and they said okay but when the ramen came, it was chicken. It wasn't a big deal but we went back to the counter and asked if we can please have the pork we ordered and the lady got defensive and argued that we did not ask to swap and in the end we had to top up some money to get the right order. We live locally and every SINGLE time we have gone into this place the lady at the front is so rude. Every single time we have come in we have wanted to order something from the menu only to hear “only from the cabinet” “we arent cooking anymore”. We thought it was because we were coming in an hour before closing so we went in several hours before closing and the same thing… whats the point in having a menu if you arent...
