There's nothing like fresh snapper and chips! It's a Kiwi icon and tradition. And nobody cooks it to perfection like West End Schnapper Bar!
Fish and chips is a beloved staple of New Zealand culture and was a cherished family tradition especially on Friday nights for Catholics. I have fond memories of coming to West End Schnapper Bar as a child c1960 so it's had the same name and location for awhile.
They will gladly cook it to your liking no problem at all and to be honest it's the best I've had. The batter is always light and crispy and all the juices are perfectly sealed in, making it moist on the inside and golden on the outside.
I love the punnets of fresh mussels, kina and raw fish. It's always super fresh and delicious and also you can conveniently get your kai moana on the weekends!
