Alsultan restaurant — Restaurant in Otago

Arrived for lunch just after 1pm, by 2pm our food had not arrived at our table so we went to leave (we had to go back to work). Turns out that it was just ready then so 3 of us said we would have it as takeaway and the other 2 decided to eat there. It took well over 5 min for our takeaways to be packed so yes we were late back to work.The other 2 sat down to eat and then told they had to leave (before they had finished eating) because they closed at 2:30. They said the grilled food took a long time to cook....we were the only people in the restaurant! How long would food take if they had multiple...

Looked promising but really needs to work on their service flow and staff communication. Restaurant was cold and although there was around 5/6 people working, food coming out was very erratic and cold. Staff looked like they didn’t know what was going on we waited 20 mins to get some more water and the table next to us who came before us didn’t even get their food for over an hour and were still waiting by the time we got up to leave. Food is alright but does not match the price. Hopefully they get into a better hang of things...

This would be the worst food I have ever had at a restaurant. I gave my wife a piece off my beef & after 4 minutes of chewing she gave up and spat it out, in all honesty if I had loaded a piece into a sling shot I could have killed someone. We ordered drinks when we came in & finally received them after 10 minutes or so & the place was quite!so not sure what the hold up was. My advice is to steer well clear & maybe try one of the nearby rubbish bins for scraps as would be...
