On our family holiday we decided to head to coffee club for lunch as we have had great experiences at other coffee clubs around the country. I was shocked at the cost - $90 for 2 of us ( an adult and child) to have lunch ! When I asked to have a copy of the receipt to check what I had been charged for ( as I really felt that $90 was extreme to say the least ) I was gobsmacked to see that I had been charged for the “aioli” that I had been asked if I wanted with both meals - The casheir had phrased the question “ would you like tomato sauce or aioli with your meal - did not disclose that this would be extra - and I had presumed this was the sauce that came with the meal , alas no , we received aioli and some other sauce on the plate. It would not have bothered me if the cashier had phrased the question truthfully instead of disguising the question to make more money . The second thing we had been charged for as an extra was de cafe coffee - a full charge on top of the coffee charge for de cafe - again if this had been disclosed at the time of ordering no problem but an extra $3 on top of the $7 iced coffee for making it a hazelnut decafe coffee was a stretch. Overall the cost of each item individually I felt was overpriced for the quality of the food . Lastly the service from the cashier was definitely lacking - when I approached her questioning the amount I had been charged for the meals I was friendly and had said I was surprised at the cost and after re checking the menu would like a copy of the receipt - she printed it off , handed it to me and walked away , not uttering 1 word. Overall really disappointing experience and would not recommend coffee...
Read moreWay too overpriced for what you get, be careful when getting the pancake especially because I presumed there would be at least 2 pancakes for $22 but it was only 1 - admittedly it does only say pancake on the menu but for that price you'd think that you'd get a bit more. It was a pretty good pancake admittedly but it tasted as if salmon or something else fishy was cooked in the same pan which left a bad taste in my mouth, metaphorically and physically. The French toast was on the pricier side but not too bad apart from the crusts being chewy and hard to cut through. Overall not bad if you don't care about the price tag of your food but in my opinion the quality either needs to be stepped up a bit or the price needs to be lowered. If you want somewhere else that actually does good breakfast food and not too expensive I would recommend Capers, hands down better value...
Read moreI ordered a BLT and a coffee. 37 dollars. . . . . Now, i can understand this price if i got 2 BLT'S served on my plate, This was the smallest BLT i had ever seen. It looked and tasted like they just put the bread in the toaster, slapped Avocado spread on it ( which was extra) No butter underneath, There was hardly any tomato, the lettuce was old, And the bacon tasted like boot leather. 7 years ago, this place was pumping. The atmosphere was great, the food was great but now, there's no vibe, everything is overpriced, and the food is horrible. I'm sorry guys, but you really REALLY need to up your game and not only produce passion is the food industry but a little passion when it comes to creating good food. 37 dollars i could of got a big breakfast and a smoothie from...
