Yong Fa Restaurant offers truly authentic Northern Chinese and Tianjin cuisine. We ordered several classic dishes, and each one really captured the nostalgic flavors of home. The lamb spine hotpot had a rich, hearty broth with tender meat, complemented by red dates and goji berries – perfect for warming up in winter. The century egg with tofu was light and refreshing, dressed with soy sauce and sesame oil, a typical Northern-style appetizer. The sizzling beef came in a generous portion, with tender slices well-coated in a flavorful sauce. The Tianjin-style flatbread, scallion pancake, and fried cakes were all spot-on – crispy outside, soft inside, with great texture. The steamed buns were plump, juicy, and wrapped in delicate skins, very close to the authentic northern taste.
Overall, if you’re craving Northern Chinese flavors, especially Tianjin dishes, this place is highly recommended. The portions are generous, the flavors are reliable, and the setting has that down-to-earth, old-school Northern charm – perfect for gatherings with family...
Read moreWe ate something with friends inside and also ordered some food for takeaway. When my friend used cash to pay, the staff ripped up two pieces of $50 dollars without our consent because she suspected they are not real. After that, they agreed to go to the bank to check but we had to wait for them to finishing the rush time.
We went to ANZ in st lukes mall, and the staff confirmed the teared dollars are real but cannot change at weekends.
Therefore, we had to go to the bank branch again next Monday to change.
No service attitude, no appology, so never come again. Not friendly to cash users.
Totally a liar and no one contacts me until now. This things I complained happened nearly two months ago, so please show who you called to apologize....

This wasn't in line with what we originally booked, it's simply a scam attempt at trying to get us to spend more money since it's hard to get restaurant seating on such an important day of the year for Chinese people.
I've heard the food tastes good, but I will never eat from someone who blatantly lies and cheats people for their money. Completely...
