Matakana Bacon Company — Restaurant in Rodney

A little disappointing.. Given the name of the business, I would have expected a bacon - packed butttie.. In reality I got two skinny slices of white bread with a miniscule slither of cheese (I went for the bacon and cheese option) and when I opened the slices of bread I found the barest minimum amount of bacon.. I would say it was less than a typical slice of bacon. It was cut into little pieces and pushed around the bread to perhaps give the appearance of covering the slice of bread. I waited 30 minutes for 1 sandwich and 1 burger, you didn’t even say sorry. All people who ordered later than me got their food before me. Your client service is weird! The stuff told “it’s ok, only 25 minutes”. I think it’s rude. I won’t return.

Answer for owner’s respond: May be I was tired, but is it normal for your shop to cook 30 minutes for 1 piece of sandwich? P.S. There wasn’t a lot of people in this morning actually (10 people, not hundreds), and all people got their orders during 10 minutes, expect me. It was my birthday and mum and me had gone to a 'nice' cafe originally but the service was a bit frosty. I said "shall we get a bacon butty instead?". Well well, we made the right decision. The guy serving us was just so energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about what he's doing. We ended up getting the bap (secret bap!) and I had mine with egg. YUM. I'd recommend getting a good coffee from somewhere like the Black Dog on the main road, then get your bap and find a beautiful spot near the eel filled river. Bliss!
