I’m absolutely appalled by this places behaviour and encourage you all not to dine there based on my experience. I was having breakfast around 10am when all of a sudden I heard a gentleman in a loud voice behind the counter addressing a tourist not to use their water tap to refill his waters bottle in front of the other people dining there. The young tourist sheepishly walked away after being berated at the counter . It wasn’t the fact that I agree or disagree with the tourist using their water, but bare in mind it is a tourist hotspot and being welcoming should be a given. What was also appalling was after he left, the three staff members stood behind the counter and talked loudly about what just happened and rubbished the tourist so we all could hear. About a few minutes later, one of the staff member came close to where we were sitting to clear away dirty dishes, I approached her and said that the way this was handled was appalling and that it should have been handled better. She turned around and said well he didn’t buy anything from us. I told this staff member I’m embarrassed to be a kiwi if you treat visitors like this to which she replied well you don’t sound like a kiwi which only made me more dumbfounded of what just happened and the attitude of the cafe towards its customers. I encourage anyone visiting Picton to be selective of dine where you are treated...

While I must commend the exceptional quality of your food, the experience was marred by the unfortunate behavior of two staff members at the counter.
Upon receiving my coffee order with the wrong milk, I politely approached the counter to request a correction, and I was met with raised voices and an unwarranted attitude. I was willing to pay for any inconvenience caused, but the response I received was both unprofessional and unnecessary.
The lack of customer service skills and the insistence on blaming us for a potential miscommunication were disheartening. It is essential to address such incidents promptly, as they reflect poorly on your establishment. Moreover, the sarcastic laughter and dismissive attitude when I offered to pay for the corrected coffee were wholly inappropriate.
I appreciate the apology from one of the waitresses who mentioned that the staff members were stressed. While I empathize with workplace stress, it should not be an excuse for mistreating customers. I believe a more customer-centric approach and effective communication skills are crucial in ensuring a positive dining...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting attitude and service would highly recommend not to visit. My partner and I ordered a coffee from gusto and they were very bitter. We never complain but this time the coffees were undrinkable and we decided to ask for another one. My partner very kindly said to the barista that the coffee is bitter and he raised his voice immediately and told her that she was only person to complain this week (bear in mind it is only a Tuesday). He then very aggressively asked "well what do you want? Do you want another one? Because I'll do one and that's it then your gone". My partner was so taken back by this, as she hates confrontation and it was really worried taking the coffees back in the first place. When my partner was walking back to her table the owner then yelled in front of the whole cafe "this is the only one your getting". I can't believe someone could be so rude especially when the coffee was returned in the nicest way possible. A young girl then came out an apologise and it was horrible to see how embarrassed she was....
