What a revelation. If you need a pick me up for your soul and stomach, this is the place. A great eatery in an old church with a menu that I have never seen in the good book, but I know it must be in there somewhere. We had a bit of a mix to pick at for an early lunch, the barrata with hot honey and lavosh, was our starter, and it delivered, the barrata was smooth outside and super creamy inside, the hot honey was wonderfully thick and tasty. We followed that up with the flatbread with chilli and ricotta, what more can you say about Woodfired flat bread, the dip was creamy and full of flavour, it could have done with a bit more heat but was great as it was. We then had a Margherita pizza, which was as good as any pizza from naples, great base, tomatoe sauce was on Point as was the rustic mozzarella, topped with basil and a generous squirter of olive oil, simple devine. We partnered the pizza with what ended up being the highlight of the meal, the caramelised Brussels sprouts with honey mustard dressing and apple, this may be my new holy trinity, deserving of a chapter of its own, the halved sprouts were cooked perfectly, caramelised outside, moist and still slightly firm insides, tasting sweet and nutty like a perfectly cooked sprout should. They held their shape perfectly, topped with the honey mustard dressing that added some acidity and a depth of flavour that elevated this dish to heavenly levels, tied together with small shavings of apple that gave the dish a sweetness that was unexpected, but richly deserved. The humble sprout was the king of the dishes we tried, and I will sing their praises whilst the memory of this meal remains with me. We partnered these dishes with a glass of local pinot noir and a schooner of hazy pale ale, but there is a good selection of other wines and beers on offer. Read moreAwesome spot! Sundays captures the spirit of what Queenstown's hospo scene is all about: beautiful scenery, welcoming service, and food that delivers well beyond any expectations.
We visited during a work function and everything we ordered went down a treat. The pecorino churros were a fantastic starter, but the real star of the show was the pizza.
The bases are were crispy, fresh, authentic, and honestly the best I've had in New Zealand to date. I was blown away by how understated they are as a destination for pizza: the pepperoni was hearty with a beautifully fresh and herb-rich marinara sauce, and my colleagues heralded their pizza with salmon and honey creme fraiche as the best pizza they'd ever had. If you like citrus, I'd hazard a guess you'll have the same experience.
Mark my words: In a year or two, Sundays will have earned its reputation at the top of the lists of Queenstown's must-visit restaurants, and right now is your chance to experience it "before it blew up". Set aside the time and go make a night (or morning) of it.

Read moreWe had dinner at Sundays tonight and we were very impressed by the quality of food, service, and atmosphere.
We ordered the savoury churros, wood fired leek and pepperoni pizza.
The savoury churros were a stand out dish, something very different which left us thinking, why haven't these been made elsewhere before?! Crisp exterior with a fluffy interior and nice black garlic sauce on the side.
The Wood fired leek was sweet and morish, on the smaller side portion wise however was just right accompanied by the churros and pizza.
The pizza was great, super light airy dough and very simple, fresh and tasty.
The service was great from our waitress who answered all of our questions and made us feel welcomed.
The atmosphere was awesome too, super laid back and comfortable and the occasional escapee goat from the field next door.
Highly...
