Beware of booking for accommodation at this awful place. Let me list the amount of problems you face at this fantastic establishment:
Facilities: • The beds have missing legs so you have to sleep on an incline • The fridges have pieces that just fall out completely when you pull it out • The wifi is so non-existent you get approximately a maximum of 500 kbps at any given time (half a MB) •The “queen beds” that are written on the site here are two single beds jammed together under the sheets, so you can fall right through the middle at night • The washing machine has knobs that look like they do something but have almost no serviceable functionality, we had to twist and push random knobs until the machine started working • The dryer is very old , and it significantly shrunk my sister’s family’s clothes when you dry it after giving it a wash, if the washing machine ends up working for you • The kitchen restricts much of what they allow you to cook, with a lot of inconveniences for them which then follow a warning of a $200 fine if the room remotely even smells of anything • Blankets/sheets were stained
Receptionist: • This was the worst part of the experience. We went during December, and if you want to contact the receptionist, you would have better luck licking your own elbow. No contact number, email, or method of communication will reach them. Many of our issues went unheard and unresolved, until it became a problem for the receptionists, in which case they contacted you and then disappeared again. If you want to hear from them, consider creating an inconvenience for the receptionist staff of the Gateway Apartments so you can ultimately get in contact with them. • The Indian receptionist was quick to make herself disappear when we wanted to reach her, and she was a real fiery desk attendant with a razer sharp attitude. If you want to experience an ear infection I suggest you have a conversation with this woman
Pay the extra money and go stay within Queenstown. The facilities and staff attitude is not worth the amount of money you’ll save for your dreamy journey...
Read moreI was a bit disappointed in our stay here. First of all, I have to say the apartment was nice. It was clean, large enough and warm enough, but a few of our items in the room were broken or not functional.
The worst thing was that the toilet seat was almost complete broken off the toilet. Every time we sat on it, we slid around and almost fell off. I just think that's totally unacceptable and it needs to be fixed. What if an elderly person stays and they seriously injure themselves by falling off?
Our toaster was only halfway working. One side of the toaster had a large gap and the toast kept falling down into it and getting burnt and broken up. We couldn't figure out how to turn the oven on either, after pressing all the buttons and turning different knobs, it just kept blinking. The elements worked fine, though.
Our soap in our bathroom was filled with water. There was hardly any soap in the bottle at all. We also thought it was a bit weird that our beds were made when we left all our stuff and bags on them. I used to clean for motels and you are not supposed to make the beds if personal items are left on them.
The other disappointing factor was the wifi. It's not unlimited and gets used very fast. I think it's just a bit stingy considering most places will offer unlimited wifi.
We enjoyed having a washer and dryer, and the bath tub was spacious, but there were too many half broken/non functional stuff that made the stay a let down. I strongly suggest getting this stuff fixed and if you are unaware (which I doubt), urging your cleaners to tell you when something is broken in the room is...
Read moreHorrific apartment and service, stayed here for a long weekend with family.
No smoke alarms in the apartment we did not realise this until the second day as it is not normal that guests should check for smoke alarms when staying at a motel, they were replaced that day once asked, fire extinguisher is also over 10 years out of date for service.
Sky tv was not working (during a long weekend with multiple sporting games on) when approaching management they informed it was out throughout frankton although pub across the road was working fine, other guests arrived over the long weekend weren’t informed of this either and were disappointed as it is one of the services advertised online and outside the property.
Beds and furniture are well due for an upgrade as were very uncomfortable to sleep on and sit on, and electric blankets only able to be used on one side of a queen bed on a few very cold nights with thin duvets.
Had to contact management multiple times throughout stay for things such as forks (only 3 in a 6 person apartment) and towels and for rubbish to be emptied and when contacting reception was very rude and blaming it on us saying we didn’t want service on that particular day which was false.
Overall multiple issues each day of our stay and property needed a proper deep clean and upgrades throughout, when emailing about our issues after stay management was very rude and did not take any responsibility particularly for the smoke alarms being told we should have checked them upon arrival. Would not...
