久味 Joy Eatery — Restaurant in Upper Harbour

Avoid this disastrous restaurant at all costs. Horrible service and rude staff. Went today to order takeaway and the waitress with the low ponytail and glasses was taking someone else’s order on the phone. We waited for a long time and when she finally hung up, she asked what our order was. Just as I was about to tell her, the phone rings and she picks it up and takes another order right in front of us… We were appalled and waited it out just for her to tell the person on the other side of the phone that she’s currently taking another order. What kind of logic is this? We finally shout our order over the incredibly loud sound coming from the kitchen and expect her to give us our receipt that has the order number, but instead she picks up the phone AGAIN and proceeds with another person’s order whilst holding into our receipt. At this point, this is just ridiculous. She looks up at us like we’re an inconvenience to her and I tell her give me our receipt two times for her to rudely give it to me. As we wait for our order number to be called out, a bunch of people line up to pick up or order. So when she came out of the kitchen saying “order is ready” we did not realise it was ours. 5 minutes later, she comes back out again, glares right at me and shouts “your order is ready!” The restaurant had a horrible smell of soot as well! Absolute horror.

This is the first time I have been so disgusted by such horrible service.

WORST experience ever!! To be avoided if you want any kind of service and quality food!! Deserves a 0 star if google allowed it… We ordered tofu jelly, when asked for some coriander leaves on top we were told it would cost an extra $.50c, for just a pinch of coriander I mean go figure… The jelly also came on barely warm (should normally be served hot) and we kindly asked for it to be warmed up and the waitress with glasses did not seem happy about that and just took it off me and said nothing… Later when another older waitress brought our chicken shreds noodle, she literally SLAMMED it in front of us on the table, and just walked off. The noodle turned out to be quite bland too to add to the nightmare. Owner obviously doesn’t mind their staffs attitude and the service provided seeing the number of 1 star reviews out there, go spend your hard earned...

Highly recommend this place if you want to try some really good Chinese breakfast.

Ordered dishes: Smoke pork Chinese Burger 👍 8.25/10 Soy milk Savoury crepe with crisp crackers 👍 7.25/10

Smoke pork Chinese Burger: Definite must get when coming here. The bun was extremely flaky and crispy. Pork was super smoky and soft.

Savoury crepe with Crisp Crackers: Really good contrast of texture between the soft crepe and the crispy cracker. Then they have this kinda savoury sauce in the crepe which provides all the flavour and ties the dish together.
