BurgerFuel Albany — Restaurant in Upper Harbour

I am ashamed to mention I have had Burger fuel from Albany, two days in a row, (the second due to a power outage). Night 1: we arrived at the time we were told by the website our order would be ready, order not ready, that's fine, waited 15min then had an back and forward with the person behind the counter that the order she was trying to give me was not mine, as I only ordered 2 burgers and fries, not 3. When we got home (5 min away) both burgers and fries were cold, but they had been hot at some point as both burger patties were burnt to crispy and half the chips were burnt, unhappy end to our washed out camping.

Night 2: no power at home and our favourite place to get food was closed. Waited 15 min after order ready time again, got home with our food (still only 5 min from the store) all burgers were again cold, all fries were cold, and one of the burgers wasn't what we ordered and the special request burger had not been done.

If the owner reads this, you should be embarrassed by the food your staff are delivering, I am sure this is not the quality and service the burger fuel reputation has been built on. I do wonder if the new boxes cause the burgers to go cold quick, but that seems unlikely as that doesn't explain the cold fries, and it is more like the place is currently mismanaged.

I will no doubt give this place a go when I forget about the recent experience, I hope that it is better again like it used to be, but currently, eaters...

Edited! One time out of 6 was amazing. 1 out of 6 visits, seriously.....not good. Be careful when ordering food from here, triple check it and taste it before leaving the store!

4.15pm today, 6th july, one male (curly blonde hair) another male who perhaps took my call? and one female staff member, had absolutely amazing customer service, from the phone call, collection, food, extra gravy on gravy train and sweet chilli sauce on burger was done and i was made to feel like it was actually ok to ask for extras, happily paying orcourse, unlike another store charging and majorly under delivering, ...truly amazing! Thanks team! Lovely to see people not only loving their job but also acknowledging all customers entering, even though they were slammed, they had a constant smile, and went above and beyond. You are all major assets to burger fuel, almost felt as if it were your own, maybe it is. Either way, Well done. I will be sure to bring cash in next time to tip! Good customer service is hard to come...

I am in New Zealand with 4 teenage boys from the Bahamas who are sailing in the World Championships. A friend of mine, who is from New Zealand, told me to try Burger Fuel. The boys and I are now huge fans of Burger Fuel and they beg me to take them there every night! I am a vegetarian, so at first the thought of going to a burger joint did not thrill me, but they have amazing vegetarian options on their menu! All the food is cooked to order so it takes a few minutes to get your meal, but it is definitely worth the wait! The staff is super personable and were very interested in why we were in New Zealand, and even gave our boys a complimentary extra order of fries! I hope I don't get anyone in trouble for saying that. Burger Fuel makes eating a burger not feel like junk or fast food. The boys are already plotting how they are going to open a Burger Fuel in...
