We have been regular shoppers for this Oceanz store since they moved into Taiping supermarket at Rosedale, and enjoyed a variety of fresh seafood, however, this time the experience was absolutely shocking. I went to the store this Saturday afternoon while my grocery shopping, chose a pack of sashimi and queued up for pay, I handed sashimi to the cashier counter lady for her put my purchase in to a bag, I was concentrating on the eftpos machine to pay by card and keep my head down, after complete payment I saw the white shopping bag of purchase (their standard shopping bag for all customer, white color but cannot see through) placed in front and near to me on the counter for collect ,so I grabbed it and leaving, then this customer service lady stopped me advised that I took wrong bag and pass me my bag of stuff from behind the counter (same white color shopping bag), she told me off that “Do Not take other customer's purchase intentionally”, I was shocked, and told her “there is not name on the bag, and I can't see what is in the bag, you guys put it in front of me after I made payment, how can I know if it is someone else's purchase?” If I accidentally took an incorrect bag, then it just needs to be swapped back, so I am confused. What makes you objective and judge your customer? Stop insulting your customers! As a business, you choose what you do and what you say, as a normal customer I...
Read moreI have never ordered Fish and Chips through Uber Eats before, however to try something different I decided to delve into looking for a local Fish and Chips shop. I spent a lot of time on google review doing research into the many takeaways on the north shore and decided to settle on trying Oceanz Seafood in Greville Road. Their review level is low but this is not based on their food, its more on the shop hours. I ordered the Family meal of 4 fish, 4 mussels, 4 potatoe fritters, 2 chips and a 1.5 litre Drink and the Chicken Nuggets and chips meal which incl 10 nuggets.(I honestly wish I had taken a pictures of the food) In my opinion it looked like there was way more than 4 fish in the meal. All in all the meal exceeded my expectations in quality, freshness, taste, portions and price. My family could not stop raving about the meal it was certainly the best I had ever tasted other than my own lol. The fish was moist and the chips were crispy and tasty, my husband and son thoroughly enjoyed the battered mussels and the potatoe fritters was also a favourite. I do hope that the consistency in the flavour, freshness and quality continues it will definitely keep me ordering more. (I will add photos the next...
Read moreOceanz Seafood NZ definitely earn their name because you can taste the sea in their fresh food. Unfortunately this branch are not consistent with taste quality of their fish and chips and do not live up to the Oceanz brand all the time. The only time their fish and chips are top notch and where you will experience that ocean/sea taste, is when they use fresh oil and you are lucky enough to be there on that day.. They then use that oil way too long afterwards and your chips comes out very dark and taste horrible...Their chowder doesn't come close to the other Oceans franchises' chowders because the chowder at this branch is a vegetable chowder with a little bit of mixed seafood grinded into the vegetables. It taste horrible and leave you with an overwhelming vegie taste on your pallet Finally the batter they use for their fried mussel and oyster taste horrible... The Albany branch will be a hard branch to beat if they decide to stick to the original recipes NZ Oceanz...
