This was a new cafe in town since my last visit to Whitianga so it was high on my list of places to check out. It did not disappoint. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive; even though Mat and his waitperson were both busy, they acknowledged our presence and attended to us as soon as they could - a few minutes at worst.
I ordered the Full Monty breakfast whilst my sister order a Garlic, Mushrooms and Caramelised Crepe. They soon arrived and were very satisfying. Notably the breakfast had chorizo rather than kranskys, a very welcome change from other cafes we had visited recently. Too often there is a sameness about breakfasts in cafes here so the chorizo was a good way to add that little difference to things.

The menu has all of the usual traditional cafe fare. I had eggs on a rosti, which I could not fault, but there was no “flair” it. The prices are economical , and the owner knows all his regulars and chats with them - which probably explains the older crowd who flock here.
