Located in the heart of Auckland’s CBD, Advieh brings a modern twist to Persian cuisine, offering an unforgettable dining experience with its intimate atmosphere and well-curated menu. The restaurant prides itself on blending traditional flavors with contemporary presentation, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance that’s perfect for both casual outings and special occasions.
On my recent visit, I opted for the steak paired with a glass of Syrah 30 wine. The steak was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and flavorful, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to quality ingredients and precise cooking techniques. It was seasoned beautifully, with hints of Persian spices that elevated the flavor profile without overpowering the meat. Each bite was complemented by a rich, savory sauce that added depth to the dish.
The Syrah 30 wine was an excellent choice to accompany the steak. Its bold, full-bodied flavor balanced the richness of the meat, with subtle notes of blackberry and pepper that lingered on the palate. The wine’s smooth tannins provided a perfect contrast to the steak’s texture, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Service at Advieh was impeccable. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu, offering helpful suggestions and ensuring that each aspect of the meal was tailored to perfection. Their attention to detail, from explaining the origins of the wine to describing the components of each dish, made the experience feel personal and thoughtful.
The interior of Advieh is cozy and stylish, with a minimalist design that reflects the contemporary approach to Persian cuisine. The subtle use of Persian motifs and warm lighting creates a comfortable setting for an evening out.
In addition to the excellent food, Advieh offers a carefully selected wine list that pairs beautifully with their menu. The wine menu features local New Zealand selections as well as international choices, making it easy to find the perfect complement to any dish.
Overall, Advieh offers a memorable dining experience with its high-quality Persian-inspired dishes and exceptional service. Whether you're a fan of Persian cuisine or simply looking for a great meal in Auckland’s CBD, Advieh is definitely...
Read moreSpecial occaision, I turned 70 and so we went.
We never look at prices because going out to eat is 'special' and always an 'occaision' and Advieh did not dissapoint on keeping our evening a special occaision.
I like that the staff greeted us as we walked to our table, not sincere but still very nice to be acknowldeged.
The menu is confusing and needs to be seriously looked at; the day has passed for little plates and limited mains. We ended up ordering far too much food.
There is a banquet option and that is what we will do next time; yes, there will be a next time.
The rib eye, Wagyu and Aged were BOTH not available; this removed 20% of main choices right off the bat. A City Restaurant and on a Monday night and two mains are not available?
This is a hotel restaurant, and if it has a draw back, it is that the 'Hotel' side of it needs to be designed out of it. The space lacks the same warmth, charm and flavour that the food has.
The tables are like they were rescued from an abandoned RSL, and the cutlery and minature plates did not do justice to the food that came to the table.
There are dried flowers and they are DEAD FLOWERS....not dried....there is a way to do dried flowers and this is NOT it...... pussy tails and dead hydrangea are not edgy and forward; that is someones easy way out for florals, inside a space when they do not have the budget to replace fresh or no design idea for dried florals.
Dress smart and plan on a long visit enjoying some of the most flavourful and well presented food in Auckland City.

Read moreI was an in-house guest and had been looking forward to this dinner but unfortunately ended up quite disappointed.
I booked about two months in advance however on arrival was directed to a small table in a dark corner of the bar area to wait. After a few minutes I was asked if I'd be happy to sit in this "waiting area" for the whole night as the table reserved for me was "close to a large group of four people". This seemed bizarre, four people doesn't seem like a large group and who goes to a restaurant expecting it to be empty, especially during a busy period? I said I was happy to move and was taken to the new table, which was perfectly fine.
Took a while to be brought a menu and was then advised that a lot of menu items, including signature ones like the crispy kataifi were unavailable. I ended up ordering a grilled scampi ($18) starter followed by duck ($68) and potatoes ($16) for the main. The scampi wasn't great but I did like the duck and it was a huge serving.
Service throughout the night was a bit haphazard. The waitress who initially brought me to my table took a drink order but never put it in so I had to order again. I had to ask for the bill three times before it was eventually arranged. It was a reasonably busy evening, but given the high number of staff I was surprised that they seemed to be stretched.
In fairness a lot of the reviews here are very positive and perhaps my experience is not representative of your typical meal at Advieh, but based on my experience I...
