I find myself here every single day, and trust me, that's not an exaggeration! But today, oh, today was a peculiar one. As I stood in line, casually bantering with the ever-friendly human beans behind the counter, something unexpected happened. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw it – a cheese bun. It wasn't just any cheese bun; it was winking at me, freshly toasted and smothered in butter, dressed up in the fanciest of Marmite.
Now, I'm typically a ham and cheese toasted croissant kind of guy, a creature of habit you might say. But today, the universe nudged me in a different direction. I turned to Mitch, as i needed some guidance and I asked him for his sage advice. With a mischievous grin, he leaned in and said, "My friend, that cheese bun is the unsung hero of our menu. When it meets a loving coat of butter and a kiss of boujee Marmite, it's a symphony of flavours your taste buds won't soon forget."
Well, you know what they say, when in doubt, trust Mitch. I took a leap of faith and ordered that tantalising cheese bun. What can I say? Mitch wasn't just spinning yarns. Read moreI used to frequent your cafe in Ponsonby and to be truthful, I stopped going before learning that you were poisoning birds to maintain health and safety standards. The reason for my decision was the lack of hospitality from your staff despite the high price of pastries and coffee, your team lacks common sense and prefers to stay behind the counter rather than engaging with customers on the floor, clearing tables, and offering a warm welcome. It is not surprising that your Pt. Chev Cafe has cleanliness issues when your staff does not prioritize maintaining a clean and high-standard environment (read your past google reviews). Mr. Hishon and Mr Helm, you two operate multiple businesses and presumably have enough financial resources, I have two requests for you:
I’m shocked the reviews aren’t higher for this delicious restaurant.
My family was famished and ordered 7 yummies, three salads, and a toasty for 3 people! We ate almost every single thing, lol.
The French toast is delicious, and I make French toast regularly. I’ve been unhappy with all of the French toast, waffles, and pancakes I’ve eaten in Auckland until here.
I also loved my hazelnut croissant. It’s chocked full of flavor and nuts. It’s hearty.
Both my guys preferred the chocolate croissant.
My son’s favorite was the salted caramel chocolate chip cookie. Hubby’s favorite was the orange cake. Everything was delicious.
The leek scone is very tasty as is the baguettes. I’ve since bought numerous breads, and they’ve all been delicious.
The only thing I would lot order again is the peach tart, but only because the peaches are canned. The flaky pastry is delicious
Yum, I can’t...
