I've thought about posting a 1-star review for KFC Quay Street for about 18 months now. It's my local though, and I'm a creature of habit (and maybe punishment?) so I've kept coming back, week after week, 7-aside loss after 7-aside loss.
I've gotten use to the order being wrong 50% of the time. I can accept this. This is what you get with KFC Quay Street. It's part of the charm.
Tonight however, marks the final straw. I turn up 9:02pm, 4 visible cars ahead in the queue - it does wrap around though, so let's be generous and assume 3 cars wrapped around - an estimated 7 cars total. Light-to-no foot traffic inside.
9:15pm, I finally move forward for the first time. One card has left the queue entirely and heads for McDonalds. 9:30pm, two cars proceed. Here we go! 9:35pm, I reach the delivery window - silence. Me: "Hello?". Silence. 9:37pm, Me: "Hello???" Silence... and then... silence. 9:38pm, "Can I take your order please?" 9:40pm, I reach the payment window - a chicken specialist so stoned he can't talk takes my payment with a thrust of the EFTPOS machine 9:50pm, The strong & silent server turns up and hands over the food- completely wrong. Wrong burger, missing chicken. 9:51-9:54pm, Me: Knocking on window for help, some (helpful) guy from the main counter comes over and takes the bag back 9:57pm, After triple checking, I'm in possession of the correct meal, including the same chips (and half the chicken pieces) from earlier, now cold as the coke 9:58pm, ~56 minutes later. Pray that it's cooked and head home
Now this isn't a reflection of all KFC's, I'm a big fan. I frequently have the best KFC at the one in Takanini. This is squarely focused on KFC Quay Street. It's bad, it's been bad for a long-time, and thank god my lease is over next month because I can't take this place being my local anymore. Good riddance.
p.s. Based off the turnover of staff, I wouldn't place blame solely on the...
Read moreOnce I had got home I noticed that my order was missing some items, I called up and spoke to Chris the assistant manager. After explaining that I was missing items he mumbled something I could not understand and hung up on me, after attempting to call again 7 more times he finally picked up and yelled at me to come into the store if I have a problem, I proceeded to tell him that it is very inconvenient for myself to do so however he said he did not care.
I went into the store and was not apologetic at all about this whole situation, he didn’t believe there was anything missing as “the bag was open”. Not sure how you are meant to check the order without opening the bag.
I asked for an apology for him hanging up on me however he did not seem to care. I asked if there was a manager I could talk to then he proceeded to say he “runs this ship” multiple times, however it clearly stated he was the assistant manager on his name tag, he would not give me anyone to contact about this situation.
After telling him that my meal is now cold because of their muck up and that I would like a new meal or a refund he proceeded to tell me I could not have either.
After being at the store for another 5min where he was not talking to me, he finally gave me a full refund, where he didn’t even pass me the money just put it on the counter and walked away without an apology what so ever.
I would like for there to be something done about this whole situation for wasting my time and causing hassle, coming from running my own business I would never want a valued customer to be treated like this, unfortunately there was no valued customer...
Read moreWas there 2 nights ago with my partner and ordered the "Thirsty bird" coupon and added 2 extra chicken on top (which we paid extra). We've ordered this exact order 3 times before and each time we get different size chicken pieces and gets DRIER every time!
The last encounter we had with Quay Street KFC was a very appalling one due to one of their staff members that was serving at the front and the INDIAN MANAGER that was on shift that night.
The story:
We ordered a thirsty bird pack + 2 extra original pieces - they gave us 2 wing pieces , 1 drumstick and 1 thigh and 1 thigh + 1 wing for the other extra piece order. My partner went and asked the staff member at the front to change the chicken pieces as they were very small and we didn't receive this the last time we ordered it.
The staff member then approached the Manager that was on and explain to him the situation. However the problem was THEY WERE DISCUSSING THE SITUATION IN INDIAN!!!! IN FRONT OF US!!! HOW RUDE??? WE WERE STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM.
All of that, for them to say they couldn't change anything, "it is not their business so they can't change it for us". POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
This happened on 24th Wednesday at 7:10pm. KFC PLEASE GIVE YOUR STAFF MORE TRAINING WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE PLEASE!!!
...AND NOT SPEAK IN THEIR LANGUAGE IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS ESPECIALLY ABOUT A COMPLAINT BY THAT PARTICULAR CUSTOMER, you...
