If I could give 10+ ⭐️ I definitely would from the EXCEPTIONAL service my partner and I received last night on our Valentines date. I booked in for the Valentines special at 6pm, when we arrived we were welcomed by the lovely Kat(Katorina sorry if we misspelled) our whole experience was top notch because of her and this is why..
Kat was amazing from the start to end. She ran us through our menus and explained what was included etc. Every time Kat saw us run low on drinks she always topped us up with more before we even got to ask. 🥰 - She was Gentle, Kind and always served us with an absolute Smile.
Our favourite dish of the evening had to be the Main dish; We chose Pork Belly served with Polenta and Parmesan Fries and Garden Salad. 10/10 recommend all the flavours went really well together, the Pork belly cooked to Perfection and truffle Mayo sauce with the Parmesan Fries wow! Plate wiped clean🔥
Entree was new for our tastebuds, but it was overall still a great experience! Dessert we had Chocolate Petite Fours with Cheese board we didn’t quite the cheese board but the Chocolate Petite? My partners a chocolate fan we were taken away with the creativity that was put into it we loved it.
Last but not least the live piano music 🎶 He played John Legend All of Me at some point and we were just in awe of it all taking us back to the night we drove home from our ball night in High School. Truly memorable night for us.
Thank you Palmers and thank you again Kat for making our night a one...
Read moreAverage/ok food, insane prices Venue is pleasant being in the Downtown of CBD, but I will say don’t look to Palmer if you’re trying to not put a dent in your wallet. I wasn’t overly hungry so I ordered the ‘seasonal veges’ dish on the side menu, and the price wasn’t listed. When the bill came I thought I’d probably be paying something around $12 for these vegetables. Nope. It was $22 for a quarter of a cabbage, which you could tell as it was left intact, not cut into smaller leaves (this would make a whole cabbage from here 88 dollars). My friends ordered mostly everything on the menu, and the food quality and flavours were pretty generic for a place in the price range of Azabu, Mudbrick, Cafe Hanoi etc. I won’t comment on alcohol prices as I feel $20+ cocktails are very common everywhere at the moment. I don’t mind a bigger bill if I really enjoyed a restaurant and the food was delicious because I know I’m paying more for that experience, but when you are paying far too much for a bar/restaurant I find it challenging to enjoy it. But equally, I can’t blame their prices due to the staggering expenses of operating a restaurant in Downton AKL in this day & age, during these times. So I would just advice potential diners to be prepared to fully open your wallet for a...
Read moreApologies this is a late review for evening of Saturday 18 March. Atmosphere was amazing and looked stunning to visit for a quick wine & fries, but service was extremely rude. I personally hadn’t noticed any signage that said cash wasn’t accepted, so when I paid the bill I was initially shocked as I only had cash on me that evening. The man behind the till was extremely rude and laughed in my face saying he’d take my $50 cash and give me no change (bill was for $20). Then went further to insult me saying I must be a drug dealer, because no one else has cash anymore these days. I really enjoyed the bar but will not be back after the service I received. Luckily a friend was able to take my cash and cover the...
