A quirky and cosy cafe, central to everything but not encroached on by the hustle and bustle of the centre of town. Reliably good (though expensive) coffee - Havana beans, though the food is the real star here. The menu changes daily and you will need to inspect the counter to see what is available. There's a good variety of sandwiches, muffins, cakes, samosas, cookies, salads, filos and other sweet or savoury items, made on premises to unique recipes. The gluten free/dairy free/vegan options are clearly labelled and the prices are quite reasonable. The space also doubles as an art exhibition area - the displayed works are for sale, providing visibility for local artists. Downsides: the inside space is tiny, so if it's busy you might have a hard time getting seated (they do have takeaway) and maximum at one table is 4 people. The queue can be long at busy times. Read moreWhy you should probably eat at Deluxe right now: I recently called to see if they had thier peppermint slices available and they reported they would be happy to make them and asked when I would be visiting next. How sweet is that?! It happened to be my 30th birthday later in the week and I was so excited to see those scrumptious peppermint slices.Deluxe is and has been my favorite place for great food and people but this was such awesome service I have to tell the world about it. If you have never been, you should probably go. I will add they have delicious wholesome feel good food (it will likely give you that warm fuzzy feeling if that's what you're after) and the friendly, warm, atmosphere is simply splendid. I reckon the food here is made with a crap ton of love.
Again thank you wonderful people at Deluxe for the birthday...
Read moreLove this little coffee shop! Conveniently located next to Embassy cinema, and walking distance to busses and the city centre. It’s a little local haunt for those living in the area. Service is friendly and casual. Food is delicious and they have a nice selection of scones in interesting flavours. Coffee here is also nice.
I like its quirky and artsy decor. They sell local artists’ works hung on their walls for a reasonable price as well as framed poems.
The cafe offers indoor and outdoor seating. Free WiFi on site and reading materials- local newspapers. It’s not a quiet spot as it’s quite a bustling location....
