Coffee's good that's about it thus far !!
Do not recommend the traditional mince...it comes out on top of yr bread making it a soggy mess - when I asked where the watercress was the waitress looked perplexed like she didn't know the menu I had to point it out to them written in black & white. Plate sent bk brought back two small finger sized sprigs came out...wilted. When I replied seriously this meal is $17.50 ??? I got a look of Ohh here we go ! I told.the waitress that watercress was mentioned as part of the meal she replied Ohh no its just a garnish and not really part of the meal... I was aware that my questions were becoming irritating & challenging to the staff so I chose to give the dish a try but cld only get as far as the poached egg...because the bread was soggy and the wilted watercress was not appealing.
What was really disappointing is seeing & hearing the staff complaining about my feedback when they returned my meal to the kitchen to bag up so I could take it home for the dog. I spoke to them on my leaving & though an apology & a refund was offered I declined this.
I really liked the staff at Columbus however this was pretty unprofessional behaviour they let...
Read moreMy first visit to this Columbus. The girl at the counter was pleasant and friendly. When I couldn't decide between a cabinet item, she made a suggestion. When I ordered medium coffee she asked if I wanted double shot.. I thought this was default for this size.. Anyways. When the coffee came it was quite tepid as was my friends hot chocolate. It also had a look that you might get when someone stirs your coffee, no latte art., not even a basic heart. Quite disappointed for a franchise that specialises in coffee. The Cafe was quiet, as it was 2.30pm, even so tables took a long time to be cleared giving sparrows enough time to have a good meal too. Overall my thoughts are it lacked attention to the details for it core items (coffee) and urgency and hussle even with 3 FOH staff on almost outnumbering customers. There are better Columbus...
Read moreWent to this branch first time yesterday with a friend to 'claim' our free coffee on the loyalty card. Nice trick to make us spend more cos we hv to order something from the menu, not the cabinet. Fine. My problem was that the omelet I ordered (one of the cheaper items on the menu) was way overpriced at 17.90 with just one filling of spinach - sorry I'm not counting the cheese cos that's pretty standard for a cafe omelet. And when I asked abt extra toppings, I was told that even mushrooms will cost 6 dollars extra! Didn't do that of course so I spent nearly 18 dollars for something I could hv made at home for almost nothing. Pls add another topping in your omelet. Every other cafe has at least 2. Won't be coming back and definitely not falling for that rewards...
