This is the face of food poisoning for my friend and I. The below letter was a complain letter I wrote to the management of Sailors lounge. To my greatest dismay I got an unsympathetic call from the GM who told me the best he could do was to invite me back to the restaurant for a meal. Hello same meal that gave my friend and I food poisoning. And when I refuse his offer and told him I was going to lay a Google complain he literally told me off. Very unprofessional.

Good morning sir/ma I trust this message finds you well On Sunday the 5 of May our friend came to town and we decided to bring them to Sailors lounge for a night out. We order Seafood platter, and it was eaten by the two ladies. My friend hubby reached out to us and told us that the wife was badly affected by the seafood platter she ate at The sailors lounge. He complained of his wife stooling and throwing up severely throughout the night and wanted to find out if I was affected. She was carried out on a wheelchair to the airport. I told them no I was not. But didn’t realise mine was coming 3 hours later. In my 50+ years of life I have never experienced such food poisoning. I literally thought I was going to pass out. I was gushing out stooling and throwing up at the same time. I felt my stomach was going to rip open from the excruciating pain. I went on your Google review page and got a number that ends with 1400 number I called and laid a complain but got no response yet. I will attached my receipt and I ask for a full refund of our bill. I'd heard quite a bit about this restaurant and was excited to visit, however, it didn't live up to the hype. To get into the gate was a problem, cars being parked and re-parked, so they clearly didn't have enough parking. Then we left our car with a "parker"(some staff were parking cars).

We sat on the platform in the water and I just hated having to use the staircase leading there - it just felt unsafe. The tables were so close together, you almost had to rub shoulders with people on another table. I found the staff a bit abrupt - one took the 3rd chair at our table without saying anything or asking if we were expecting someone else to join us.

The food was just there - we had a platter, chips and chicken; nothing special. I asked our server for cocktails recommendations and he suggested their house cocktail- sailors. I made it clear I only wanted something with a little alcohol but that drink was full on vodka. When I complained, there was no offer to change it, just suggestions on how to make it less alcoholic. Ended up buying 7up to mix with.

The life band was underwhelming, I suspect they forgot their voice exercises because I heard they are normally really good.

Then we finished, tipped the parker, took our keys and went home. Next morning, we discovered that one side of the car was badly scratched and we've had to take it in for body work. If you are hungry, I advise you find a snack to eat before coming here to buy food. On a Sunday evening, I carried my pregnant self and a child there, cos we wanted mashed potatoes. That was all we ordered - 2 portions of mashed potatoes. We did not order any grills or protein or anything else at all. Just 2 portions of mashed potatoes. We waited for about an hour. They kept saying it's almost ready. There were some other customers, but a lot of empty tables, so the restaurant wasn't full at all. Very terrible. How can you call yourself a restaurant and you fail at providing food to your customers in a timely manner? Food is your business and you can't even do it right. When it finally came, it wasnt even up to half of a takeout bowl, and the taste was less than mediocre. The food was not worth the wait at all. Waste of time and money. Oh, we were not given takeout cutlery even though we ordered & paid for takeout, all we got was the takeout bowl with the mashed potato inside. When we asked for takeout cutlery (i.e. disposable spoon or fork), the waitress said they don't give takeout cutlery. So if you order takeout here, you probably wanna make sure you are not starving and/or you have your own cutlery with you, or you buy some from a shop or wait till you get to your residence or a place where you...
