I had high expectations when visiting Mantra, a restaurant in Victoria Island, but unfortunately, it failed to impress in almost every aspect. My friend and I went for their unlimited cocktails, priced at an exorbitant 30k per head, which in hindsight, was utterly unjustified for what we experienced.
First of all, finding Mantra was an ordeal. It’s tucked away in a very obscure location, hidden behind a supermarket with no clear signage to indicate its presence. I would never have known it was there if not for prior directions. Upon entering, the atmosphere immediately felt off. The interior was dimly lit—if you could even call it that, as they were relying entirely on daylight streaming in from outside. The decor was underwhelming, to say the least—uninspired and frankly, quite disappointing.
Our experience worsened when the waiter seated us at a reserved table, only to ask us to move after we had settled in. It was embarrassing and unnecessary, adding to the growing list of frustrations. Additionally, the scene inside was chaotic; people were standing on seats with studio lights to take pictures, which felt excessive and out of place. It appeared that even the staff were enabling this disruptive behavior.
Before we could even be served, we had to search for a suitable spot, as many tables were left dirty, cluttered with remnants from previous guests. The servers didn’t seem too concerned about tidying up, which made the entire seating process far more stressful than it needed to be.
To make matters worse, the bathroom was poorly lit, which made it impossible for us to freshen up or take the pictures we had planned. After less than 30 minutes in the building, my friend and I decided to leave. We headed to Chapters instead, which offered a much better vibe and a far superior experience in every way.
Overall, Mantra was a complete letdown. For the price and the inconvenience, I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are far better options in Victoria Island that offer better service, ambiance, and...

I recently visited Mantra Restaurant & Lounge for a special occasion—a proposal—and they truly made the experience unforgettable. The restaurant is tucked away behind Karma Supermarket, sharing the same parking area as Hotel Cumberland, making it a hidden gem in Adeola Odeku.
The food was nothing short of spectacular! We started with their lamb chops, grilled to perfection and served with crispy fries. The flavor and tenderness were amazing. But the highlight was the seafood platter—absolutely out of this world! The lobster is a must-try, and their chilli crab was sensational, offering a perfect balance of spice and richness.
To top it all off, we indulged in their Ferrero Rocher chocolate shake, which was simply a "wow" moment—so rich, creamy, and indulgent. It perfectly complemented the evening.
The ambiance of Mantra is versatile. Their lounge has a cozy, elegant feel and turns into a club after 10 pm, creating a vibrant atmosphere for anyone looking to dance the night away. Plus, they offer unique experiences like Sip n Paint sessions, which are a fun way to relax and socialize.
They also provide delivery services, which is a great option for those nights when you just want to enjoy their delicious offerings from the comfort of home.
