Zaza is a very welcoming entertainment center. Mere standing outside the building, you won't believe what's going on inside. As soon as you step in, you see a number of hostesses welcoming you warmly and waiting to confirm your reservation. One of them actually walked me to my table with a very broad smile. They have so much hostesses, waiters and live performances that I couldn't help but worry about their overhead costs. The performances were intriguing, the service on point. We had 2 to 3 waiters waiting on our tables almost through out the night. The food was good, their jollof paella was strangely nice (I'm not one to order rice at restaurants but we ordered some variety). My best was the salmon and prawns cake, loved it so much. The starters kept on coming and we were almost full before the mainz arrived. I also enjoyed the desert, it gave me Salt Lagos cookie monster vibes. Their guests are majorly a mature crowd, I hear they don't typically accept guests under 25 years (PS: Gen Zers, consider your ways!!). The restroom is really nice and has a cute little section for taking pictures. Theres a staff waiting to help you with the handwash, tap, mosturizer and even give you sweets when you're done. To crown it all, they gave me a pair of disposable slippers on my way out to change from my heels! Talmbout topnotch service.
Damage: meals cost 25k for Silver selection, 35k for Godlen selection and 45k for the Zaza selection. These prices are per person and they include starters, mainz and deserts. The cocktails range from 8k to 35k and they serve complementary orange and apple juice. Need I say the experience is worth every...
Read moreSoo..never heard about Zaza till my Friend mentioned he was planning a dinner for about 20-25 guests. Thought cool, lets explore.
Zaza is definitely upscale with its presentation and staff conduct. Most staff communicate like secret agents, with earpieces and visible mics. I suppose that's how they maintain good coordination without having to yell out at each other.
With a contemporary, and somewhat chic interior. Zaza offers some "pizzazz" that has come to be expected by Lagos' IT crowd. From mellow dance tunes, to live singing and dance performances, Zaza seems to have the glam figured out.
So why 2stars?
The main purpose for visiting was a dinner, remember? So I was particularly, mainly, solely, exclusively, looking forward to the food, and that alone. Lol. We ended up being about 20 guests in total, and we all either had the ribeye, risotto di mare, with starters and dessert.
The common sentiment when we all left was that the food was vastly underwhelming. It felt like the chef might have been super upset or something while preparing it all. Zero value/satisfaction from all the meals served. Underwhelming food is something that shouldn't be heard of if you have to settle a 7-figure bill at the end of the night.😒
Anyway, if you're looking at having drinks and chilling with friends and Lagos' finest in a nice atmosphere ✅ For dining, or anything food related ❌

Read moreFirst time clubbing in Nigeria while visiting on holiday. I came on a Friday eve with family and friends. We were informed that we couldn’t order cocktails unless we bought a bottle for our table but the extra catch is that you can’t order wine (madness). Apparently cocktails aren’t served after 10pm. I ordered the lamb shank and it was extremely dry and flavourless.
What was worse was the lack of communication from the staff. At first it was “we don’t serve cocktails” and then its was “you need to buy a bottle”, then they followed up with “wine is not included” and then it was followed by “you can order cocktails if you buy a bottle” - they were literally making rules off the spot which I found extremely frustrating and ridiculous.
They just want you to spend money and I would have happily ordered multiple cocktails for myself as I was only interested in ordering cocktails. Never in my life have I visited a bar or lounge with such a...
