Scotch Bonnet Restaurant — Restaurant in Lagos State

We were invited recently to taste Scotch bonnet menu, their menu offers a variety of local and continental dishes. They also have a Sunday buffet weekly where you get to eat as much as you want for N9,500 while sipping on some champagne 🥂

During our visit, we had: -General Tso Chicken | N4,500 -Native Rice | N4,500 -Special Chinese Fried rice | N4,500 -Mashed potatoes and Lamb | N8,000 -Seafood Okra and pounded yam | N4,500 -Snails and prawns sauce -Salad -Beef gravy -Cupcakes -Chapman -Meaty noodles | N4,500

My highlights were the General Tso chicken, special fried rice and lamb gravy- these were delicious and stood out to my taste buds 🤤. The chicken had this sweet and Chilli taste and I totally loved it. I’m usually not a lamb gravy and potatoes fan but I liked how it melted in my mouth and wasn’t overly seasoned. The potatoes on the other hand was just ok. I’ll definitely recommend stopping by and trying out General Tso chicken! They also have karaoke and you can book some spaces if you want to organise an event.

The food is really good, but that's about the only great thing. This would be a great place to dine-in at, but a terrible place to order from as your order will most likely get forgotten.

The ambience is average at best and there is a lack of orderliness as the waitstaff seem to walk around a lot, with different people trying to take your order over and over again. It's almost as if they never get the order correctly until the manger intervenes

It appears as though there is no information relay between the kitchen and waiters.

A word needs to be said about the payment as the staff make mistakes adding up the bill (despite having a huge calculator) and there are also some hidden charges such as VAT which are typically not disclosed upfront

In summary, they could also be a bit more prompt with service delivery for prior orders as I ended up having to wait 30 minutes for a cheeseburger after placing an order an hour earlier.

Th food was good for the price. Champagne and Chapman bottomless cups. You can have as many cups as you like. They had a variety of rice-village rice, jollof rice and there was a really nice brown one which I can’t remember the name. The desserts were amazing I had about three servings 🤦🏽. They had really nice chicken and fish pepper soup. I will take my kids there one of these days.

I was hanging out with the ladies on the S platform and we wore Ankara. It was really colorful. We played games, talked and had a lot of fun.

The place can be used for other events. Someone had his 50th birthday party while we were there. The ambience is good and the waiters are friendly. I will recommend it for...
