I visited this restaurant on Saturday evening, October 2025, together with two family members. We were warmly greeted and led to the table without any delay. The waiter asked if it was our first time. When we said yes, he explained in detail which dishes are available and mentioned the portion sizes.
After that we ordered multiple dishes. We ordered a fuji set, gyuniku okonomiyaki, kimchi + tonkotsu ramen and yuzu ice cream. We didn't have to wait too long for food to arrive.
The dishes tasted very good. Okonomiyaki was probably the least appealing due to its rather small size (not like the huge ones you can find on youtube :D), but the taste was very good, with the cabbage properly cooked inside. The ramen was the star of the evening, with good ingredients and amazing broth. The tonkotsu pork was tender and juicy. The egg was also very good. The only thing that felt somewhat subpar with it were the noodles, some of them stuck and clumped slightly but that didn't compromise the overall experience with this dish. The fuji set was also very good, with a lot of different food for such price. Salmon belly nigiri, tom yum, karaage, iberico skewer - everything was fresh and tasty. It felt like this set had fantastic value for its price.
The location of the restaurant was clean and quiet. It had tables both inside and outside. The atmosphere was quiet and classy. The waiters were very helpful, described the dishes they brought, and even asked if we want to double check if the bill has the correct dishes listed.
In regards to the potential improvements, it might be interesting to add some sort of an udon dish, these are quite popular. Another one might be a tonkatsu dish. Finally, it would be interesting to try some sort of authentic non-alcoholic drink which pairs good with the food, maybe some sort of matcha tea based drink?
Overall, it was a great evening with tasty food and good atmosphere. I will definitely visit again to try other dishes.
Strongly recommended to check this place out yourself, I think you'd be surprised with the food...
Read moreOk so up front I want to be clear, this wasn't a bad experience by any means. Google doesn't let you do half-points so I decided to give it 4/5 instead of busting down to 3/5. Realistically I would probably give them a 3.5/5 if that was an option.
I went with the "Sakura" option which came with a variety of items as well as a carafe of sake. The sake was fantastic and a pleasant surprise. I often find that a lot of sushi places (especially in the US) don't offer good options for sake. Often times they are harsh and lack any good flavor. The option I went with here was very smooth, a little sweet, and had good depth of flavor.
The food that came with the Sakura combo was good but not quite what I would have expected for the price or what I envisioned coming from a location that I would consider to be fine dining. The first dish was two slices of salmon sashimi in a jalapeno sauce which was very good and the nigiri that they offered was pretty solid as well. I would say the nigiri was a bit heavy on the rice but overall was probably the best part of the actual sushi that was included. The roll and maki that came out as the final dish were ok. The maki were pretty normal, nothing special but not bad by any means. The roll that came with the set was unfortunately a bit bland. It looked fantastic when it came out and was topped with a mixture of minced salmon and something else and then possibly broiled a bit but when I ate the first bite it just kind of fell flat. I think the reason I liked the sashimi and nigiri so much is because they highlighted the fish and used it as the focus point and it seems like that was lost when constructing the roll.
Again, definitely not a bad place. If you're looking for a place to settle your sushi craving then this is a good option. I would just like to see them highlighting all the great seafood they have at...
Read moreOverall we were disappointed, the restaurant was recently included in the michelin guide so we expected more from our experience. The restaurant is located in a hotel lobby which can be distracting of the whole experience.
First of all, the music playlist was terrible - it felt like we were in a cheap beach club and some songs repeated themselves, this kind of ruined the mood.
The food was just okay, but nothing more than okay. We felt that the general ingredients used didn’t seem fresh.
The sushi was slightly worse than any other sushi restaurant in Bergen. The quality didn’t seem to be up there, the fish tasted too fishy, and not fresh. We ordered an assortment of the nigiris - which was supposed to include a flambéed salmon belly, but we were served a prawn nigiri instead, at no moment did our waitress let us know that the flambéed salmon was sold out, would’ve been nice to know in advance! We also don’t agree with being charged the same for an ebi nigiri than a flambéed salmon belly.
We ordered a pork skewer - which was served raw inside, we talked about this with our waitress and she told us that the pork is served purposely raw to ensure it’s juicy, looking out for our own health safety we did not eat this - we also refused to pay for it when the bill arrived.
The ramen was lacking flavour, seemed rushed and basic - not much different to your basic. instant ramen noodles.
They were sold out of the of the white chocolate matcha cake - apparently they were sold out of many things - so we ordered the only other dessert to share - a yuzu ice cream, the ice cream itself was good but the decoration with just 2 slices of green apple and 2 slices of oranges just seemed off-character to a Michelin guide restaurant.
We paid around 2700 for 2 pax - we feel this was way too much for the quality and...
