Peppes Pizza - Ole Bulls Plass — Restaurant in Bergen

This is Norwegian “American Pizza” so any fellow Americans should be warned and not take offense. Expect to pay more than you have ever spent on pizza in your life.

Chicago pizzas here have 1/10th the sauce, you have been warned. When they say THICK they mean it.

I recommend the Italian thin ones if you don’t want to mess around.

Pizzas are toppings on top of thick bread that’ll dry fairly quickly. As I look around everyone seems to be happy and enjoying it, maybe something’s wrong with me. Fundamentally the pizzas are not for me.

We were excited to visit Peppes Pizza mainly for nostalgic reasons. Unfortunately the service was not amazing and we just didn't feel as welcome as we had else where. The pizza was pretty good. My daughter however did not think much of it. The sauce on all the pizzas did seem a little spicy. We went for the buffet although we weren't offered it when we came in. This made us think that they don't offer it to tourists but after the salad bar being none existent (1 bowl of packet salad (which was empty) a salsa dip and a mayo dressing - also pretty empty) and there were only 3 choices of pizza. I used to enjoy the pizza here, but my last visit was extremely disappointing. My friend and I waited 30 minutes for our order while others who came later were served. No one brought us water or plates, and it felt like we were completely ignored—even though the place wasn’t busy. Eventually, the most frustrating part happened: the staff member who took our order asked if we wanted to pay, not realizing we never got our food while he walked in the salon several times. He later admitted they hadn’t even started preparing it even though we asked another staff if our order is forgotten. The staff seemed disorganized and unable to manage even a 4 or 5 tables.
