If you're in Bergen and looking for a delicious hotdog experience, look no further than 3-Kroneren! Nestled in the vibrant heart of Bergen, 3-Kroneren is a culinary gem that elevates the humble hotdog to a new level of gastronomic delight. During my recent visit, I was thoroughly impressed by the offerings at this charming stall.
The sausages are exquisite, each a testament to rich, nuanced flavors. I sampled both the Reindeer and Cabanossi varieties; the Reindeer sausage was particularly noteworthy for its subtlety and tenderness, providing a mild yet satisfying taste profile that is effortlessly enjoyable. In contrast, the Cabanossi presented a more robust experience, highlighting a delightful amalgamation of spices and a firmer texture that contributed to its character.
What truly set this experience apart was the delightful sprinkle of crunchy shallots atop the hotdogs. This added a sensational textural contrast that elevated each bite, introducing a satisfying crunch that beautifully complemented the juicy sausages.
Accompanying these delectable sausages was impossibly soft bread that served as the perfect vessel, enhancing each bite and adding to the overall experience.
3-Kroneren also boasts an impressive array of sauces that cater to diverse palates. I found the curry sauce to be particularly compelling, its harmonious blend of flavors adding an exquisite twist to the hotdogs.
The service was another highlight; the staff were not only swift in their service but also exuded warmth and friendliness, creating a welcoming atmosphere that enhanced the overall dining experience.
While queues can be expected at this popular establishment, I discovered that the wait is considerably shorter during the afternoon, allowing for a more expedient culinary indulgence.
Moreover, the prices are remarkably reasonable, ranging from 50NOK to 90NOK depending on your selection of sausages and sauces, making this culinary experience accessible without compromising quality.
In conclusion, my experience at 3-Kroneren was truly exceptional, and I eagerly anticipate returning to explore more of their tantalizing offerings...
Read moreThis was our very first stop in our 17 day cruise through Norway and what a fun and tasty way to begin the journey. A friend of mine told me that I absolutely had to try the traditional Norwegian "pølse med lompe" which is a hot dog wrapped in a soft potato flatbread. I was really looking forward to it so I asked a local for a recommendation and without hesitation he pointed me to Trekroneren. He said to look for the place with the longest line and he was definitely right.
The stand was busy with both locals and tourists and had a great energy around it. Unfortunately the traditional hot dog I was hoping for was not available when I visited but the woman working there was very kind and recommended the reindeer hot dog instead. I decided to try it and it was delicious. Mine came topped with fresh chopped onions fried onions and a sweet lingonberry sauce which added a really nice contrast to the smoky rich flavor of the sausage.
Both of my kids had the regular hot dog with ketchup and they both finished every bite which is always a good sign when traveling with young children. My husband ordered the bacon and cheese hot dog and he really enjoyed it as well. The toppings were generous and everything was fresh and flavorful.
The service was friendly and helpful and even with a steady line of customers the staff took time to answer questions and offer suggestions. It felt like a very welcoming spot and the food definitely lived up to the recommendations.
We are so glad we stopped here and would definitely return. A perfect quick bite that gives you a little taste of Norway right in the...
Read moreI CAN’T BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED! 🤯😳😡🥺 It really frustrates me to write this because I genuinely love your reindeer hot dog, and I’ve been ordering it the same way for a year now: with ketchup, mayonnaise, jam, and fried onions. I had never had any problems before. However, today I had the worst experience. I politely asked the girl to prepare it as usual, and she flat-out said NO — that this hot dog is not served with ketchup. She gave me no explanation, only told me that if I wanted ketchup on a hot dog, I should go to 7-Eleven. When I mentioned that I had always ordered it like this, she replied it must have been someone else, and then her colleague even added that they could be fired for putting ketchup on that sausage. I couldn’t believe it. She repeated that if I wanted ketchup, I should go to 7-Eleven. Obviously, I left feeling shocked and disappointed — not only because I’ve never seen any sign saying that each hot dog must be served only with specific sauces, but also because of the terrible attitude I received from this person. Please, if there is a reason, explain it, but if a customer likes it a certain way, I don’t understand why you have to...
