To be a high class restaurant on Soli the restaurant does a good job with the location and atmosphere, which is good if you go here to have a drink and some dessert, and that’s about where the good part stops. Food can be found cheaper and better at any other Thai restaurant.
Service: The service is close to none existing, they give you the menu and take your order and then your are left alone to guess. You have to fight for the waitress attention. Nothing is explained, even the waitress are unsure about todays dish and dessert.
All dishes are made to BE shared, but you can clearly tell the dishes are not made FOR sharing . No forks or spoons are provided for a big group that want to share.
Food: The food is mediocre at best, for example they have a dish called green leek, which is both tasteless and too hard. They will serve you Thai curry and ask if you want rice with it (+25kr/portion), I guess they expect it’s normal to eat it without any rice…
If you come for only the dessert, you will have a more pleasant experience. They dessert fills the role of being interesting and good balanced. But the issue is the small portions for a price almost as much as...
Read moreThe food we ordered were tasteless and not worth for the value at all. One of the sauces was too salty. The fish was not fresh as we expected to be. Green curry tasted like water. The only good thing were desserts. Mango sticky rice was good. I like the texture of sticky rice and the combination of ice cream and mango sticky rice. However the service was terrfible. There were no service from the waiters at all. They did not represent the menu or the food. In addition we had to wait quite long to get some help even though the restaurant at that time was not busy at all.
In overall I would not recommend to go here. The food are not worth for money and the service can not live up to expectation considering the restaurant is in one of the best hotel...
Read moreThai street food+. Great food in the upper midrange among Thai in Oslo. Its old location was a classic, but the new Sommerro location is a well deserved upgrade.
The Chef’s menu is a great value, but there’s a lot of gems on the menu, so if you can - go freestyle.
On the downside… The service was slow on our visit with a lot of uncertainty and follow-up around ordets of beer. From the chefs menu on our visit, the calamari was also a bit too much of the same flavor and could preferably be replaced by a smaller dish with more variation. Those are easy fixes, looking forward to...
