Frenchie Frognerparken — Restaurant in Oslo

Very nice high end place. Brilliant place to hang out. Food was OK+ and very nicely presented. The wine list is good but lack budget alternatives. We had a great time, but the waiter wasn't really waiting on us I'm afraid. Am I a snobb or would most people expect that it was seen to that there is wine in the glasses at least once or twice? Or that the win cooler was placed in shadow rather than in the boiling sun? That the waiter looked you in the eyes when we left, acknowledging that we tipped him? Anyways, it was very nice and the waiter was nice...

This was a great lunch spot! We went after visiting the nearby park and this was a relaxing place to enjoy a meal. My husband and I both got the lunch set menu which came with olives, cheese, salami and crackers to start followed by a delicious steak sandwich. We ended with coffee and a Madeline. Our meal also included refreshing sparkling water. The waitress was so nice and made this a seamless experience even though we don’t speak any Norwegian. Great value...

Ordered the beef tartare. It came ready mixed with roasted onion on top. Not really to my personal preference, looked a bit unappetizing. Other items we ordered were the lasagna which was average, the thai beef salad which was pretty good, and finally the pizza which was my favorite.

In all, I don’t think I’d come here for the food necessarily, but the restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Seems like a nice place to sip wine and catch up...
