I was a bit disappointed about this place, mostly because it seems that the owners don’t care if the place is understaffed or not. I would like to say that the food I had was mostly delicious and presented very well. Except for the Wagyu burger, I don’t suggest taking it. Also, the waitress working was alone but she was super nice and always smiling. Unfortunately, as I said she was alone, so she was also welcoming the people, working at the bar, serving, cleaning, and being the cashier. And the place itself is very big and the day I visited, they even opened the outside seating. So the whole experience was pretty uncomfortable, I felt very bad for the lady working alone and running left and right. There was no sign written to wait for the server before seating, so the other customers were just sitting wherever they wanted and taking the menus and cutleries by themselves. Which made everyone else wait a longer time for their orders. A lot of people just left. Probably the chef was also just one since our dishes were coming within 10-15 minutes of distance between each other. This thing happened on a Saturday afternoon, which is usually expected to be busy for a restaurant in the city center. Even if the food was good, I don’t think I would come back.

Arrived for an impromptu dinner around 8 pm, and were greeted by the warm, delicious aroma of the restaurant. We were seated immediately, and given complimentary water. The ramen selection looked too good to pass up, so we got a pork ramen and a wagyu ramen, as well as some Japanese green tea (a pot) and a Japanese whiskey. The service was excellent, as our waiter always poured our empty waters, and took care of the tea as well. He explained what our ramen included, emphasizing on its authentic noodle quality. Needless to say, the food was delicious. The pork broth was rich and filling. The prices were average for what you see in Oslo, but not the most expensive I’ve seen. For a quality meal, I am satisfied. Our waiter made sure time and time again to check if we were happy. I would recommend stepping in for a bite.

Was randomly walking around because my traveler sim card ran out of data. I haven't eaten ramen in a month due to traveling around. If you knew me, you'd know what an aberration that is as I absolutely love ramen. It must be fate that I came across Genji. I ordered the flamed salmon belly and wagyu ramen. Took a bite of the first sushi and immediately wanted to inhale the second one. It is absolutely good. The wagyu ramen didn't disappoint either. The beef was so good and soft and tasty, just as wagyu should be. I didn't particularly like the bean sprouts with it but that's fine, it's still an amazing ramen. Obviously it's expensive but that's Oslo for you. Service is OK, it did take a while for someone to take my order. Ambiance is cool, very Japan inspired obvs. I'm glad I randomly found it.

Terrible experience! I was sat at a dirty table. The server was nice. I had asked about a Ramen dish and was explained that it was made with a soy based soup. I was not told what else was in the Ramen. I asked the server about the chicken Ramen and he suggested the other Ramen as being more flavorful. I also asked for water. After the server took my order, he disappeared. I waited and waited and waited and still did not get the water. So I had to ask another server. Then my meal was delivered. The soup base was rich and flavorful. The vegetables were also good. However, that is when my experience took a nose dive! I took one bite of the meat thinking it was tofu based because that is what the server said. It was absolutely not tofu based so I stopped eating it immediately! I waited for my server to come by and ask me how my meal was? But that did not happen. At all! I had to flag another server down to ask what it was made from? She told me pork. I am allergic to pork. She said she would have to talk to her supervisor. The supervisor came back to the table and tried to tell me that the male server had explained to me that it was pork soaked in soy based broth. Absolutely not once did he tell me it was pork! Had he told me it was pork, I would not have ordered it. She tried to lay the blame on me. And as she was walking away from me, she made a snide comment over her shoulder. I got up and left. I will absolutely not deal with anyone in the restaurant industry who treats their customers like crap! I have been traveling in Norway for a special occasion, and I was treating myself to my last night special dinner. The staff at this restaurant made my experience absolute hell! I would advise you not to spend your money at this restaurant. There are better Asian restaurants who treat their customers much better. One thing as a server, you do not blame your customer for the Staff not doing their job correctly. You do not argue with the customer and publicly admonish them in front of other customers. I went to a different restaurant and spent twice as much and received...

The food was good but the service needs to improve. We asked nicely if we could sit on the sofa since we have small kids and there were having hard time sitting on the normal chair plus our table is located just in front of the entrance door and it gets cold for the kids every time there’s someone entering or exiting the door. They said NO and that was fine because maybe they needed the table for reservations, but after just literally 5 minutes they gave out the table to the walked in guests!

No follow up after serving the food, when the food was served we asked if we could get a sauce/spices for our food but it didn’t came. No refill for drinks. We wanted dessert but we did not get in touch with the waitress for a good 45 mins after we finished our food, tried to get their attention but they were so focused on just one side of the restaurant. and totally forgot about the customers on our side. We wanted to leave but we can’t ask for the bill either since no one is available ( there were customers in the restaurant but not supper busy, not full). I am usually very understanding and sympathetic since i also work in hospitality industry myself but here is something. I find the staff not helpful, not hospitable and not...
