I am judging based on the dishes I had here, and can't vouch for the rest of the menu. I can't believe this place has a 4.5 rating. The quality of the dishes are quite low here, not to mention the false advertising. Tasteless and bland seasoning. Although the menu said wild mushroom sauce, the mushrooms were the cheapest white button mushrooms you can find from the supermarket. I wasn't warned about it when I ordered. When I mentioned the mushrooms, they just said "the Chef's just use what they have". But seriously, someone went to the supermarket to buy them. There are plenty of ways to buy wild mushrooms, including: buying them from the supermarket. No pride in their craft here. I also subtract a few stars for the service, because they systematically forgot to include discounts. Happened to a lady who was paying as I was entering the restaurant, and it happened to me. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. It lures you in. They have the looks, the menu items, the open kitchen view, the funky fun logo to attract you, but the dishes are without any trace of a real chef's touch. Please do yourself a favor and stay away. There are plenty of other good Italian places in Oslo. Like, literally...
Read moreThis is by far the worst meal we have had so far on our month long journey through Scandinavia. We began in Frankfurt (I know, I know), then Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Kristiansand and Stavanger to Bergen and now Oslo. The fish dish (Sea Bream) was bland and the idea of “Mediterranean Sauce” was nothing more chopped tomatoes, sliced asparagus (not even roasted) and a few kalamata olives, there was nothing “vibrant” about it. My pasta was (it’s hard to describe) nothingness on a plate. It lacked everything a true Italian dish should accomplish, they didn’t even have some nice focaccia (or just some bread, lord knows they are not giving these meals to us!!) with balsamic vinegar & olive oil on the side (you had to pay for this) over and above the wine by the glass was less than 5 ounces a pour (pathetic) and again they charge 175 NKK for this, unacceptable, and the demeanour in which the wine was poured eluded to an evening at a Three Michelin Star establishment. The Bruschetta Con Vitello was the saving grace, thus the reason for the ONE STAR. The break fast in the same space in the mornings is worth its...
Read moreThis is a review about the breakfast from the standpoint of a person with gluten allergy: although the place is called paleo, there was not much selection for gluten allergic people. The gluten-free bread needed to be ordered and was very disappointing. The selection of sweet things stood next to the gluten containing sweet things (for example croissants), divided by a few plates and cutlery. The plates and cutlery that were supposed to be used for both were full of crumbs from the croissants. I didn't feel safe eating any of the things there. I give 2 stars because the few things I could eat were very tasty. As a person with allergies, I'll never go back...
