Not worth the hype unless youâre into pain and disappointment
We ordered two pizzas from Vaterland Bar & Scene, each around $20, not cheap, so youâd expect decent food and service. I got the âSatanâ pizza, which had one little chili icon on the menu. Iâm from Latin America and eat spicy food all the time, so I figured it would be a mild kick at most.
What I got instead was a mouth-burning experience layered in chili oil, spicy chorizo, and some kind of inferno-level pepper. None of this was clearly listed or warned about on the menu. When I politely asked customer service if they could switch it out, they refused.
I donât usually complain, but if your dish is this spicy, you need to warn people. Itâs not about being able to handle heat, itâs about transparency.
The vibe? You kinda have to be goth, enjoy mid pizza, and maybe hate yourself a little to really enjoy the experience here. If you check all those boxes, go ahead and order the Satan. Otherwise, save your money and...

The decor at this bar/pizza spot/music venue is spot on for its metal vibe. Thereâs a good number of beers on draft or in cans and bottles. Tried the satan pizza and it had an excellent kick.
Appreciated the QR code online ordering option. Everyone here was very friendly, we felt right at home.
For the other reviews hating on the bathrooms, not sure what people expect. The bathrooms are like the cleanest seedy music venue or dive bar toilets you can find. Theyâre themed with the rest of the restaurant and theyâre very clean. Imo the sink looks aged on purpose. Everything was very clean. There are stickers and graffiti on the walls and it...

My home away from home. My happy place. Good music, a good selection of beer, fantastic pizza. I can recommend every pizza, the only additional comment being to be careful with Satan and other spicy pizzas, because they really are spicy. Live gigs, and the occasional vinyl plate market or DIY market. There's also a quiz (which I haven't been to yet)! Vaterland bar & scene is a community in and of itself. Join alone or with a group, no problems either way. Booking is recommended on busy weekend nights, and if there is a big concert at the scene that evening, or even when there's a big concert nearby at...
