We went to this bar on March 2024 while we were tourists in Oslo. We found it easily although in the entrance it wrote only 27 (no Himkok) so initially, we thought we might be on the wrong bar. We later discovered that there are actually 2 bars operating one on the ground floor and one on the first floor. But I do not know which one is which. We were guided immediately after entering downstairs to the first floor by a gentleman working at the entrance. The decoration in nice and the employees were helpful. We later discovered that in the ground floor there is a bigger variety of cocktails while on the first floor, the cocktails served are kind of the classical ones and their variety was limited to about 7-8 different ones with 169 NOKs as a cost. And that was all. We were told that if we liked, we could ask at the entrance on the ground floor and be informed if there was any table available in order to continue afterward downstairs. This kind of information would have been helpful if it was given to us at the entrance before actually ordering upstairs because we might for example wanted to order something different than the ordinary classical cocktails. The music was nice and the cocktails that we drunk, although classical ones, were nice as well. The only thing that I did not like is the fact that for example the mojito strawberry that I ordered was with additive colour instead of strawberry like I usually have drunk it elsewhere but maybe, since we were in Scandinavia, they do not use actually strawberries so much there so, I did not really persist on the matter. The bartenders were also nice, helpful and delivered our drinks quickly after we ordered them. The place was clean and the seats comfortable. The toilets were also clean.

Classy, chill, and cool. Just don't miss it. I heard about this hidden spot from a friend, and I was bound to find it. We had been at a couple other spots around town and decided it was time to find Himkok. It wasn't easy. We actually walked past it once, as it doesn't have much of a sign outside, just the number 33. We got a little lucky. As we walked by it the 2nd time, a couple of people that must have been there before, knocked on a door. We were wise to the situation, and followed them in. The place was full of people. Maybe sitting at the bar isn't popular locally, because 2 chairs were open. we slid in to those spots, lickity split. The bar keep was a classily dressed guy, with an old timey look. He gave us some time to look over the menu. We picked a couple classy mixed drinks and watched him do his thing. My glass was smoked and a whiskey based drink was made. My gal got a drink not too sweet, with aquavit as the base. They make there own vodka, gin and aquavit(a new beverage for us). The alcohols sit in barrels behind the bar. It added to the interesting and fun vibe of the place. It ended up a very fun night. I'm glad we put in the little extra effort to find Himkok.

You won't see it, if you don't know of it's existence. We came for cocktails two days in a row and even my partner who really isn't a heavy drinker, enjoyed themselves at this place. We only tried the cocktail-lounge, which I estimate consist of 10-12 tables and a handful of seats at the bar. So you might be turned away, to come back later. We came in about 20 minutes after opening and we got the last few seats in the room. Staff is VERY tentative! The first thing they do is give you a glass of water, which they CONSTANTLY refill. Mine was never empty, so you don't really have to ask for anything. Staff is not only tentative but also extremely friendly, without it seeming fake. They destill their own liquor and have a small collection of creations on their menu. Their concoctions all seem balanced, even the boozy ones. We're definitely coming back, next time we're in Oslo - if we're lucky they've rotated their menu, so we have new exciting stuff to try! If you're going out for drinks, this is a MUST.

This place is legendary and for great reason. HIMKOK means moonshine in Norwegian and the reason is that they actually distill their own spirits which is super cool! The drinks are constantly rotating and they have a very cool menu this time where all the drinks are named off a fruit flavor with these cool fashion inspired drawings associated with them. The servers were super knowledgable and really knew how to suggest what drinks we would like based off our spirit preferences and flavor profiles. The bartenders were also super cool and really fun to interact with. They have 3 locations - the speakeasy immediately on the right, the garden on the left, and then an upstairs patio. I would highly suggest going to the speakeasy if you want their "known" for drinks and actual mixology. The garden is nice for group hangs and getting their premade batched cocktails. And then finally the upstairs patio seemed cool we never went up ther. Highly, highly recommend if you want great cocktails.
