I was visiting Oslo in December, and while walking on the streets I've noticed unique sign (I don't speak Norwegian, but it was obvious enough - Brewgata), so I thought "a gate to a brew". The place seemed interesting and I got in. I love when a random place in a new city makes my trip more special - the place is spacious, feels unique and people are extremely friendly. I haven't spent more than 5 minutes and I was already chatting to the owners (didn't know they were owners) - very very nice and fun people. The music is excellent, choice of drinks and beer is excellent - for someone coming from Texas at that moment - everything was new and amazing. It feels like a miniature world in the place - people from all over were there. And it wasn't even a busy day (I was told). The bar is run very professionally, but not pretentious, and I loved the relaxed vibe - that's why I love visiting Europe and especially Scandinavia! I highly recommend this place for a visit - be ready for a good beer, good drinks, good music and friendly chats! Whether you're alone and exploring the city, or with friends - it's good to know places...
Read moreWhat an amazing accident I made on my first evening in Oslo. Had no idea where I was going and it gets dark very early in November, so I popped into a random a bar.
Boy was I lucky! I had been sat for around 15min, and got handed a sheet with a list of songs and a bingo card.
Little did I know I was about to play music bingo! Never heard of it before, but it was super funny, and the hosts are full of energy and real characters! Even got to sit with them after the show for a bit and they're both super interesting! (Don't stop guys - even though I'm not sure when I'm back in Oslo.)
Beer is good and decent price. I found myself going back a couple of times during my trip.
On the evenings without the events, it was fairly relaxed.
They have a range of board games located in the back you can play with too. Which Is nice. Unfortunately I was on my own and no one to play with.
Toilets are reasonable for a bar. And pretty clean. May get a tad messier as the evening grows longer, but nothing untoward.
Is music bingo copyrighted? I recommend everywhere has one...
Read moreIt's been quite a while since I have visited Oslo for the first time, and at the time I have stumbled upon this place. I had really great time, chatted with owners for a while (it was not busy at the time) and generally Brewgata rounded up my business trip to Norway quite nicely. This time (few days ago, Feb 2020) I went to Oslo again - and decided to stop by the place with few colleagues. So this review is in the name of all 4 of us: first of all, owner recognized me even though we talked for one hour nearly a year ago. Just that was a plus point in my eyes. There was a band playing that evening, place was nicely crowded, very lively and the atmosphere was great. Kyro (owner) is a master cocktail mixer! I know we all want beer, but don't miss on that too! At the end, we stayed 4 hours and now I can say - can't wait to come back to Oslo again! Kyro, John and Taylor are saying "Snuss!" :)) I say "Skol!" and see you all again! I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Oslo, especially if you're not staying more...
