Great fish selection and knowledgeable staff! However, sometimes when I go here I feel like I am being oversold items or that a staff member is talking it up too much, for example he said very enthusiastically that his scallops were the "freshest and best priced in town", when I had just been to Mathallen's fish market where their scallops were slightly cheaper. Just a fun sales tactic, I know, but I'm there to buy decent seafood from fishmongers, not tacky salesmen. But hey, if it other customers enjoy the banter, then I can't judge! :)

Read moreA few years ago, I had an amazing dinner with crayfish, mussels and crab purchased from Flyvefisken. But this year I've been back three times, with really bad results.
I bought fresh shrimps once, that were tasteless and daft. I've twice gone for the crayfish again, and both times I've had to throw it away because the taste and smell is off. I don't want to take chances when shellfish taste or smell like ammonia.

When I bought a fish, the intestines were not removed, the gills were not removed, it was not descaled, the fins were not cut off.
The most horrible prepared fish I have ever seen.
At least I would have expected the intestines removed..........
