I was surprised to find a restaurant in Trondheim that dared to list traditional Vietnamese dishes on their menu. The other restaurants in town that claim to be Vietnamese actually only offer fusion foods, no authentic traditional Vietnamese dish. For that reason, I and my husband were excited to come inside and give the restaurant a try. We ordered 2 bowls of pho and a hot milk coffee prepared in the Vietnamese way (which we couldn't find even in Oslo). When the coffee came out, it was quite a disappointment because the coffee tasted old and not that good, and the milk to coffee ratio wasn't right either. However, just seeing it served in the traditional Vietnamese way was interesting enough to us. The pho bowls came out looking so amazing with so much beef and the correct condiments. But when we tried the broth, it tasted like something you get when you buy those instant pho packages. It was still tasty (not in a pho way but in a different way) and very generous in terms of how big the portion was. The owner was very nice and friendly. She didn't seem to favor white customers over Asian customers like some other Vietnamese restaurants that we'd been to in Norway. That is definitely a plus. Although the food and drink weren't as authentic as I had hoped, I still give this restaurant a 4-star rating for daring to serve traditional Vietnamese dishes in a town where people can barely tell what is real Vietnamese food and what is not. Also, the friendliness, the generosity and the attempt to make it happen are all very well deserving...

The restaurant is some 75 meters above ground, with large panorama windows.. and if that was not enough, the floor is actually rotating... within an hour you have seen all 360 degrees of Trondheim. This is great!
They do serve food and you can opt for pizza buffet, various types of meat, fish, and there might be salads for the vegetarian inclined, but the food is average, its normally crowded, I would not go there if it was only the food...
So, visiting town and want a spectacular experience, get a feel for the city, and do not mind a bit of chaos and eating average, go ahead. You could opt for a beer and some nuts instead 😂
Pro tip: call in advance and reserve. They will accept reservations even on the most...
Read moreGot the wrong dish served and when I mentioned this they took the dish back to the kitchen and came back with the very same dish without an explanation. This was quite odd. Later we found out that they had made a mistake in the kitchen but this was, at first, not mentioned to us. The dish I got wasn't bad but it was not what I ordered and I had looked forward to a good Lamb Korma. We had to ask for a discount and were give 39 kroner discount, which was a joke really. When we complained again we got a discount of 68 kroner. They said they couldn't do more than that. The dish cost 269 kroner and I think that their discount should have been bigger as it was clearly the kitchen's mistake. All in all,...
