Peppes Pizza - Trondheim — Restaurant in Trondheim

I'm on a two week business trip and I'm on company expense. I can eat anywhere. But tonight, i craved pizza. I passed by Peppe's yesterday and figured since it was within walking distance of my hotel, I'd get some carry out (or "take away" as my UK friends call it) and enjoy it in my room. I was surprised that it was actually a nice looking, sit down restaurant. So I instead stayed for eat in, and i was glad I did! There are many options on the menu for all kinds of pizza, with different styles as well. I started with some garlic bread (nothing too special, but it was soft and crunchy and buttery, so yes, it was good). The pizza was excellent! I ordered a small Beef & Bearnaise and it was delicious! The size was perfect for me, and I even saved two pieces for tomorrow... Unfortunately, I heard them calling me when i started watching Iron Man a few hours later... I mean really? It's a really nice restaurant with probably the best Chicago style pizza in Trondheim. Their signature sauce is iconic and unforgettable to most Norwegians familiar with the chain. They've got a few other items beside pizza, such as a taco salad and lasagne. Would have been nice if they had some more pasta dishes as well though! They have a wide variety of pizza flavors, but the overpowering flavor of the signature sauce makes most of the pizzas taste pretty much the same with some slightly different things on top, which is why it's advisable to order something that goes well with such a rich tomato sauce, like pepperoni or ham etc. I tried the garlic shrimp pizza out of interest, but it left some to be desired. With some freshly squeezed lime from the the taco salad it was instantly improved though! I think some fresh corinader, lime, mayo and rebalancing of the sauce amount could be considered :) Otherwise, great staff, great atmosphere, great for parties, definitely a kids favourite. Terrible service. Waited an age for someone to take our order even though it was not busy. When starters arrived we waited 10 minutes for cutlery asking but being ignore each time a server passed, but eventually had to go up to the back and demand attention only to be told they were on the table, which they were not. Still took a couple more minutes to get cutlery. Started to eat our starters and the pizza arrived. Both starters and pizza were quite sub-par, the mozzarella salad had loads of tomatoes in the menu photo but ours had 4 halves. Pizza was okay but basically just tasted of cheese and oregano. Awful...
