We had dinner at this restaurant, and while the food was really good and the staff was very accommodating and child-friendly, there are several things to keep in mind before visiting.
First, the restaurant is extremely expensive. We didn’t order much, yet the bill was surprisingly high. Given the prices, we expected a more premium dining experience, but unfortunately, some aspects were disappointing.
One major issue is that the restaurant is not on the ground floor; it is located in Mall One. At 8 p.m., the entire building shuts down, meaning the main entrance is locked, and all the lights are turned off. The elevator does not work, so you have to take three flights of stairs to exit. Since there is no staff to assist and no lighting, you must use your phone’s flashlight to find your way out. If you don’t have a phone, you’re left completely helpless. You have to go down to minus one and then climb back up to exit through a side door, as the main entrance is no longer accessible.
The restaurant itself was also quite empty, and we were the only family dining there. At the end of our meal, the staff started insisting that we leave a review before leaving. While they were otherwise very polite and accommodating, the constant push to write a review was frustrating—especially when our children were upset and just wanted to leave. We told them we would write a review once we got home, but they kept pressuring us to do it immediately.
The most disappointing part was that no one informed us beforehand that the lights in the building would be switched off and that we would have to navigate our way out in total darkness with no working elevator. This is a major safety concern, especially for families with children. While the food and service inside the restaurant were good, the overall experience of leaving the building in such conditions was stressful. Considering the extremely high prices, we expected much better.
If you’re planning to visit, be prepared for this situation...
Read moreIt was a mixed kinda experience where some items were really impressive and some were disappointing. We ordered Chicken Chandi Boti which was a Bar B Q item and was listed as their chef’s recommendation. Other than that we ordered two other items which were also Chef’s recommended items i.e. Chicken Madrasi Handi (half) and Butter Chicken (half) with Tandoori Paratha and Roti. Well, the Bar B Q item was the best and tasted absolutely amazing. It was served on a portable grill hence it kept the warmth and tenderness of the chicken at its best. Chicken Madrasi handi was also very tasty and the portion size was also generous as compared to half serving of other places. Tandoori paratha also tasted amazing. Now to the downside of the experience was Butter Chicken as it did not have any taste of Butter and instead was overly salty. It had so much salt that the dish tasted bitter. We complained and returned them the dish, later they brought another one which the manager claimed that they have made it fresh. However it still tasted the same hence I am not sure if it was newly made or they tried fixing the earlier one. Furthermore, the service was very slow and we had to wait to Rotis every now and then and there was only one waiter who was running around trying to serve everybody. As far as billing is concerned, they charged us for the dish which we had complained against, normally any other good restaurant would not charge against a dish which wasn’t up to the mark and had been returned. Nonetheless, we had 40% off due to the offering on one of the credit cards. Overall I feel the experience was ruined by one of the dish not being up to the mark and then charging for the same which is...
Read moreAdaab is newly opened desi foods restaurant. We had iftar buffet there at Gulberg Lahore branch and it was one of the worst experiences there.
Iftar menu was little better with general iftar items like chaats, pakoras etc. However, the main menu at dinner time was worst.
They show you whole salim bakra in menu but it disappears when you are actually at the restaurant. A boy will give you rice with a piece of meat one by one. They will show prawns in menu but those stinks very bad. Even meat dishes were stinking due to meat smell.
Apart from meat, the Chinese items were also bad. Improperly cooked rice, chowmin with very sharp smell and achari taste that sticks to your head for days, cheese naan served only once, fish with bad smell and so on. The only things to eat left were palak paneer, pasta, salads and desserts.
And the main highlight? Yes, it's pricing. They charged 4500/- for this worst buffet where even soft drinks were not original. 2 number coke and sprit and they charged separately for these drinks.
Service is slow and the environment is very congested. Aftar iftar, it feels very suffocating.
Not recommended at all.
P.S Attaching pictures that looks good, thanks to...
