The worst experience we have had in a restaurant in Casco. We wanted to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and we made a reservation several days in advance, to which the restaurant asked us for an advance of $150, since we were more than 15 people. The reservation was at 11am and we arrived on time, we were waiting for more than 30min for them to even bring us glasses of water, after 45min they came up to take our order and 1 hour had passed since we placed the order and they hadn't even told us brought the drinks. After spending 2 hours in the place (which is very beautiful by the way) and going down and up and down and up and back down again waiting for an answer as to why they didn't attend us or took a long time to even bring 1 thing, we decided to go down and cancel the order and that the refund be made to us, which was done. The manager tried to give us some excuses which we understand, perhaps the place was full and the staff was not prepared for a table of so many people, what we do not understand is why if you, as manager, are aware that your team does not is ready to serve such a large table or such a large group of people; you accept a reservation of that magnitude. If she had told us from the beginning when we arrived that the team was not prepared to serve such a large group, we would have avoided many inconveniences (such as the waitress crying because 1 has to climb 3 stairs to serve, 2 was alone serving The entire restaurant and 3 of her colleagues did not help her, not even the manager who should have helped her entire team to avoid the disaster in the first instance) and we would have canceled the reservation before sitting down to order. Finally, a thousand thanks to the girl who was serving us who was always very kind to us, in fact she was very sorry since it was not her fault but the kitchen that did not provide her with enough tools to work. oh, I forgot, very expensive for the quality of food (because before canceling everything and the reason why we canceled is that we had told them to bring up what was already ready and cancel everything else because we really wanted to run away from there) and what they brought us was an American breakfast or an attempt at it, very very lame, incomplete, without cutlery (the most lugubrious breakfast I have ever been given in a place) taking into account that when the dishes were brought up they were almost 2 in the afternoon. Who eats breakfast at 2pm? I would not go again even if I go to...
Read moreTLDR: Really great coffee food and extras!
When an establishment performs highly in food quality, customer service, and relative cost, an establishment will usually receive a very positive review from myself. I went to Baloo Cafe several days in a row and they exceeded my expectations with their great coffee, food, desserts and beverages. For their performance they have earned five stars from myself. I could write more but it’s better for you to form your own opinion, but know you’ve gotta good chance of being satisfied. In particular I suggest The fettuccine Alfredo con Pollo, Hot or cold latte (it’s even good with almond milk, which can be a hit or miss), their sangria, and the...
Read moreDo not allow the charm of this little cafe from outside to lure you. It should absolutely be avoided. There is very little management with the place. I ordered a mocha and a plain croissant. This order takes a maximum of 5 minutes to prepare, but I had to wait 20 minutes. The mocha was served in a very, very small cup, not appropriate for that drink at all. While I was waiting at my table, I saw that the guy wearing black, took another croissant by his bare hands and put it on a plate yo serve to another client who was sitting outside of the main area. This was truly a turning off point and brings into question the hygiene associated with preparing food here. The items are also...
