Corcho — Restaurant in San Felipe

The following comments are my opinions and other people may have different perspectives. I booked this hotel since I wanted to stay in Casco Viejo and it seemed adequate for this end. The hotel does not offer breakfast service and the menu is basically to accompany drinks at the bar. The day I arrived I ordered a small lunch and the plates were still on the table where I left them the following day. There is no in house service until after 11 am, according to the general manager. Apparently I was the only guest in the hotel and unfortunately the keypad system of access to my room and to the entrance to the hotel had a problem and I had to use a key, furnished by the hotel manager. Aside from the problem with locking the doors, the doors to the balconies did not fully lock and there were a couple of energy blackouts while I was in the elevator. We were in apartment 2. Beautiful location that was close to a lot of bars and restaurants. Easy to grab a cab or uber to go outside of the neighborhood and explore the city. The noise can be loud but didn't bother us (we have lived in big U.S. cities for 15+ years) but I could see how it would disturb a light sleeper. The balconies were so nice to sit out and people watch in the early morning or late afternoon. The AC was amazing and kept us perfectly cooled after being out all day. The whole apartment, including the shared living room and kitchen, was clean and decorated nicely.

The restaurant on the ground floor, Corcho, was actually so good! We ate there 2x in three days. Food was amazing, drinks were delicious and you get a discount for staying...

Este lugar se lleva el primer puesto es ESTAFA/PUBLICIDAD ENGAÑOSA. Buscando un lugar en el casco viejo para una cena romántica, encontramos este sitio que en su ig y otras páginas lo muestran como un lugar romántico con ambiente, música, buena atención, mesas afuera iluminadas, comida que se ve apetecible y buenas críticas, que después de la experiencia que tuvimos seguro son opiniones falsas también. Primero llegamos y la anfitriona se paró de una mesa donde estaba sentada con otras dos personas, degustando vinos. Nos sentamos buscando el lugar más fresco, inmediatamente la anfitriona nos dice que ese día no contaban con selección de vinos, pero al rededor el lugar estaba lleno de vino, en fin seguimos tratando de salvar la noche, después de 15min viene una mesera (lo único rescatable del lugar por su sinceridad), quisimos pedir aperol y nos dicen que no tienen aperol, ok seguimos tratando quería pedir una jarra de sangría y me dicen que solo venden por copa, AFORTUNADAMENTE, pedí una copa la cual vi como prepararon con ron abuelo y otros menjurjes sin sentido, junto con eso pedimos un par de entradas no lo devolví solo por empatia con la mesera, pero ya habíamos decidido que nos hibamos, pedimos cerveza a la cual no dicen que tampoco tienen, después vemos como la pobre mesera sale corriendo a la calle para ir a comprar un 6 pack de cervezas, todo esto mientras la anfitriona muy acomodada sentada cual cliente degustando vinos... obvio no recibimos la cerveza caliente y nos ofrecieron otra marca que tenían fría. De la comida las Aceitunas aliñadas no son como ponen en sus fotos son sacadas de u frasco de 1 dolar, mediocres, un pedazo de pan frío viejo con una rodaja de tomate encima. Cancelamos y decidimos irnos a otro sitio a empezar de nuevo nuestra noche que CORCHO con gran esmero en su mediocridad nos estaba dañando.
