Happy for them that they have great reviews and that people like it but I was expecting more from this place. Very little choice of coffee beans. They are owned by Lamastus Family which produce so much quality coffee, but the coffee that they use in the store is the same basic one that they sell in the supermarket. We were looking to buy some specialty coffee that maybe you can find only at sisu, but no they only well the basic one.
Food selection was disappointing and minimal: a few sad pastries on display. Didn't try them BUT they could be displayed better.
Disappointing decor. It's all concrete, even if designed well and very minimal. It looks more like a coffee shop that i would find in north America or in Japan rather then a coffee place in Panama. imagine this: Knowing that it's owned by Lamastus, which they have 3 different coffee estates in Boquete, a beautiful regione immersed in the Panamanian forest. I was expecting/picturing an interior design with plants, bean bags, something that takes you there to Boquete. No. Just just concrete and all minimal. Again, it is a design choice, fair enough.
So to recap, quite disappointing. No choice of coffee beans, cold and generic interior design (you could be in a coffee store in any north American city), food selection disappointing.
Probably they have the best geisha coffee but I would rather go to Unido. Too bad because I'm a big fan of Lamastus coffee and their...
Read moreThe coffees aren’t the same quality they used to be, I’m pretty certain they have changed the beans they used. The pastries are delicious, but I ordered an açai for the first time and it was almost embarrassing considering how overpriced and posh this place is. The berries were frozen, and the açai itself was basically ice - no blending whatsoever. For someone who knows what an açai is supposed to look and taste like, it was very disappointing. We asked very politely if they maybe forgot to blend it but they simply responded that “no, this is our style”. Ok..which brings me to the service..it needs a lot of work. It feels like none of the bar tenders want to be there, they don’t understand the order first time, you need to repeat yourself at least three times, and then your drinks end up going to the wrong person. We paid $80 for three coffees, two pastries, two egg sandwiches (very scarcely seasoned), the ice açai, and three juices. I was always looking forward to their coffee but I’m afraid they have lost three customers with their...
Read moreThe place is beautiful, but the girl with glasses (working on Dec 30th) spoiled my experience. She has no customer service skills whatsoever and had a look of annoyance on her face when I approached the till to place my order. It was like I was getting on the way of something very important she had to do (which I soon found out was a conversation she was having on the phone, she was back to it though as soon as I paid and went to take a seat). I later went back in to grab an item from the little gift shop and she still looked very annoyed, like she didn’t want to be there. I think her and another guy working there just gave me whatever price they decided to give me for the product I bought, as none of the items had a price tag on them. Overall nice atmosphere, nice coffee but horrible horrible service, I really don’t feel like going back, specially having been to another coffee shop just down the street from there, where I had a combination of great coffee...
